I've looked at diagrams of the shooting and from where Oswald was reportedly located in the Book Depository, he would have had a much better shot when the motorcade was on Houston Street instead of waiting until it got way down Elm Street. I know there are hundreds of books about the assassination but do any of them explain what reason he would have had for waiting to shoot? This is, of course, assuming he actually did any of the shooting. That's something that I've never understood. The motorcade was going only about 15 mile per hour and Oswald would have had a clear shot all the way from Main Street up Houston before it turned onto Elm. Yet, he waited until it had made the turn and passed and was 150 feet away to start shooting. I don't think Oswald was the shooter, I think he was a patsy just like he said.

I'd like to visit Salem and the places that have connections to the witch trials. I'm sure you can get a better sense of the history in places like the Howard Street Cemetery rather than the downtown area, where I've heard people say that everything is commercialized.

OK, we all know they weren't abducted by frigging space aliens, so what does everyone think really happened? While there's always a possibility that something else took place that night, I've always thought they made up the abduction story and then repeated it so often that they came to believe it themselves. I think something definitely happened that night. If they had made the whole thing up, I don't think they could have kept telling the same story for the rest of their lives.

I know some folks in Bardstown and they're all in this group. They say the arrest won't amount to anything and nothing is going to change.

Those look more like stone figures than mummies. Does anyone think they will turn out to be mummified extraterrestrials? They don't look like mummies to me either and people are already saying it's all a hoax. I don't think they're extraterrestrials, but I can't believe the man who presented them would have gone that far if he knew they were fake and he would end up looking like a fool.

Why would people leave a ship that was still afloat and take their chances in a small lifeboat? They would stand a lot better chance of being discovered if they stayed on the ship.

I got back from vacation yesterday and had a wonderful time in Phoenix. On the way back, we stopped at the Haunted Museum in Las Vegas, which was crowded and reminded me of people waiting to see the displays that you used to find in dark circus tents, where everyone would pay 25 cents to see something in a jar. The serial killer displays were the most interesting and some people screamed when they saw certain items. I couldn't help wondering if they were actually employees paid to pretend they were shocked or felt something evil coming from the items, but they could have just been silly women who genuinely thought they felt something. I guess we were lucky that there weren't any "interruptions" like the time Bagans closed down the "Haunted Rocking Chair Exhibit" a few years ago. By the way, there's nothing special about the rocking chair, and from what I've read on this site, the chair had been in the homes of Glatzel family members for years without any problems before Bagans bought it.
The Extraterrestrial Highway is interesting, one reason being that millions of stars are visible that make everything seem somewhat spooky. We weren't followed by any UFOs, but we talked to people at the Little A'Le'Inn, where we stayed two nights, who swore they had been followed by strange lights while driving the highway after midnight. I envy you. I've always wanted to visit Nevada, drive the Extraterrestrial Highway at night and stay at The Little A'Le'Inn. Maybe next year .....

I'd really like to visit the areas where there are a lot of UFO sightings and I love seeing the sky full of stars. There are places in Appalachia away from the big cities where you can see lots of stars but we have mountains and trees blocking the view. I'll bet the skies are breath-taking in the wide open spaces of Nevada.

I'm sure this man was a good lawyer, but only a fool would deliberately heave his full body weight against the glass window of a skyscraper.

My nephew and a friend of his want to go to the Flatwoods Monster Convention. It's almost 200 miles and it's only for 1 day, but it might be interesting.

There aren't really any close to where I live. I'd really like to go to the Bell Witch Fall Festival in Tennessee, but I'm in eastern Kentucky and it's over 300 miles.

Both Strabo and Posidonius wrote that the Druids also killed people and observed their death throes as a form of divination. Here's something else I didn't know about the Celts and Druids. I didn't know about the livers either.

Does anyone have any pictures of the interior of the house? Just heard about this murder via tiktok and the only thing I can find was exterior photos. Curious what it looked like inside for most people to call it so sterile and not a “home” Back in 2014, when the house was for sale, there were a lot of pictures on the real estate websites. People in this group usually post photos, but for some reason, they just posted links and after the house was sold, the real estate sites removed all the photos. I wish now I had posted some of the photos. To the best of my recollection, there was nothing special about the interior, except that like the exterior, it was what you might call "impersonal." If you've read the posts in this and the "For Sale" thread, then you know that some of those posting suspected someone else was living in the house that the Dermonds didn't want anyone to know about. whatliesbeyond.boards.net/thread/2949/dermond-murder-house-sale
