I may step on some toes, but I'm not sure there's any such thing as Asperger's Syndrome. Some people think that it's nothing more than some kind of personality disorder and that people like Robert Durst use it as an excuse for bad behavior.

Doctors and hospitals make so many mistakes that I've started ordering antibiotics and other medications online. I live south of Jacksonville, FL, and around 4 years ago, a nurse at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville went to the ER one night because of chills, fever of more than 104, and she was having trouble walking. They ran tests and the doctor diagnosed the flu and sent her home with Motrin. Earlier that day, another woman offered her some antibiotics that she had ordered online, but the nurse refused and really told the other woman off for ordering medications online and for self-diagnosing problems. The nurse's symptoms got worse and she had burning in her feet and hands and they were discolored, so her husband took her back to the ER. That time, she was admitted and it turned out that she had a strep infection that had turned into sepsis. She was admitted to the hospital, but over the next few days, her legs and hands turned black and she ended up losing both legs and all of the fingers on both of her hands. It turned out that if she had taken the antibiotics the other woman offered her, they would have killed the infection. Of course she sued the hospital and they settled for millions, but she still has to go through life without legs or fingers.

I know this isn't PC, but people need to marry their own kind. When people from two different parts of the world, who aren't even the same color, get together, there are going to be problems. With these two, it seems that they were both scammers, she by claiming that she was a supermodel and he for overcharging patients and stealing from the government. This marriage was doomed from the start.

I've watched all of Ragged Isle because I enjoy the scenery. I've never been to Maine, but I've been a Dark Shadows fan since I was a kid and I'd love to visit Maine someday.

Is it just me, or does it seem that there are a lot of elderly people killed for no apparent reason? I've also noticed that in a lot of them, police say that robbery was the motive, like with this one, but nothing ever seems to be missing. Unless this lady had a valuable coin collection, or something else that could be removed from the house without anyone noticing, it would be very hard for someone to break in and steal something. Another thing is that if someone wants to steal something, they wait until the person is gone instead of breaking in when they're at home and killing them.

I don't have anything against wearing fur, I have a coat with a mink collar, but in Florida, I don't get to wear it but maybe twice a year. I can understand Elizabeth and Carolyn wearing something trimmed in fur, but not Victoria Winters and Maggie Evans because they were working class girls. I suppose that Dr. Hoffman could afford to wear fur, but she doesn't seem to be the fur type. I'm not being critical because I love reading about your Dark Shadows trips every year, but how do you explain Vickie and Maggie being able to afford to wear fur?

What I don't understand is how she found the other driver in a city the size of Las Vegas.

It may sound unbelievable, but this girl could have been holding out until he left his wife and got a divorce. Even so, what kind of man would kill the mother of his children when they were that young? He deserved the death penalty.

Something that I don't understand is how Maria Elena can still be considered Mrs. Buddy Holly and profit from his estate when she married another man. Once she married, she became Mrs. Joe Diaz, so how could she marry, have kids and then go back to being Mrs. Buddy Holly? I also never understood why Jackie Onassis was buried beside President Kennedy after she remarried and became Mrs. Onassis. But I guess there's a lot I don't understand.

Sometimes sink holes fill with blue water from underground. I think that you live in Florida, so you've probably seen sinkholes. I saw a show on PBS last night about what causes blue pools and other sinkholes to form. They talk a lot about the sinkholes in Florida, like the one where the man near Tampa was asleep in his bed and a sinkhole fell in below his bedroom and he was gone forever. Most of the sinkholes in Florida today are because people are pumping too much water from aquifers, but there are much older sinkholes before people started emptying the aquifers.

I've never been to Maine, but I'd love to visit some of the lighthouses and other haunted places up there. That's one of the reasons that I really enjoy reading the Dark Shadows trip reports every year because they visit so many interesting places, like the haunted lighthouses that they visited last year, the lighthouse cruises and the old resort hotels where they stay.

When we will we get a decision on a Question and Answer category? I think it's a great idea.

I've never understood why people like the houses built by Frank Lloyd Wright, or his son, or grandson. I've never seen one that wasn't UGLY!
Has anyone read the book about Dr. Hodel being the killer of the Black Dahlia? It sounds like he was probably weird enough to do something like that if he had something to do with his secretary's death.

This is the first time that I've heard that he could have faked his own death to have the operation for his bowel problem. That actually makes sense because wearing a colostomy bag would have destroyed his image and think of all the jokes that would have been made about it and even Saturday Night Live skits. He couldn't have taken that.

I agree, Jane. I've never read a novel about a woman, written by a man, that was any good.
