The Uncomfortable Truth about Telepathy and Bigfoot
For awhile now, a certain theory concerning Bigfoot has been gaining steam. The theory attempts to explain why Bigfoot seem to have psychological and/or physiological effects on witnesses, such as intense fear or the inability to move. What causes this, the theory goes, is a type of sound outside the human range of hearing called infrasound (some known animals do this). But how can we explain the reports of Bigfoot sending telepathic messages to witnesses?
If we skip the old “they’re crazy” idea, then perhaps we can look to science for an answer … strange-but-true science. A 2009 article on the NewScientist website discussed declassified data released by the U.S. Army under the Freedom of Information Act. The data describes technologies which can induce similar effects to those reported by some Bigfoot witnesses (and some UFO witnesses). What is the technology in question?
Microwaves.
According to the Army, certain aspects of the Frey Effect have already been tested – a method by which microwaves can beam sounds into a person’s ears. Tests have purportedly shown that the numbers 1 through 10 can be beamed into people’s ears from across the room. Some Bigfoot witnesses, along with a lot of UFO witnesses, report having thoughts beamed into their minds as if by telepathy. This Army research demonstrates that technology can, in a sense, produce telepathy.
But what about non-technological psychic phenomena? A Cornell University scientist, Daryl Bem, has researched this topic with scientific experiments that have produced surprising results. Bem’s studies have demonstrated that humans can apparently foresee the future. The effects measured proved equal to, or greater than, the effects measured for scientifically accepted phenomena, including the heart attack prevention benefits of aspirin and the link between calcium intake and bone mass. Quantum physics also seems to allow for precognition and perhaps even telepathy (or thought transmission), as part of what Einstein called “spooky action at a distance.” Quantum entanglement links particles across vast distances, and has been demonstrated in scientific experiments.
If Bigfoot and UFOs go together, as I believe they do, then their alien handlers could use microwave technology to confound or control witnesses via seeming telepathy. Or, as Bem’s research suggests, we may need no technological explanation at all. Maybe Bigfoot are telepathic, or perhaps ufonauts grant them technological psychic powers. Hey, why not? We have as much evidence for Bigfoot using infrasound as for Bigfoot using microwaves or true telepathy. Besides, the truth often comes wrapped in a package no one wants to open.
