Woman gives birth to puppies
A woman in upstate New York has given birth to three healthy pit bull puppies. Elise Van Knutter returned from China last week and proudly presented her triplets to their father and various friends. The proud pappa, Van Knutter’s reddish-brown pit bull, Berkey, initially wanted nothing to do with his offspring, but Van Knutter informed us he’s warming up to them.
Van Knutter has owned Berkey five years, but insisted their relationship is much more than that of dog parent and pet. Berkey eats at the table with Van Knutter, they share a bed and she claimed her “bully boy” is a better husband than most men. “Men run hot and cold,” she asserted. “They mistreat you, they cheat on you, but Berkey is always there for me. He’s always happy to see me. He’s more loyal and loving than any man could ever be and that’s why I wanted to have his puppies.”
So, Van Knutter went online and found a doctor in China who, for a hefty fee, agreed to remove the eggs fertilized by Berkey from a healthy pit bull bitch and implant the embryos in Van Knutter’s womb. The procedure was tricky because of the widely different gestational periods of dogs and human beings. Thus, Van Knutter was forced to remain in China while she was pregnant so that labor could be induced approximately two months following implantation of the embryos. On March 5, Van Knutter gave birth to her pups, two males that are the spitting image of Berkey and a darker brown female. “It was the most wonderful thing that ever happened to me,” the new mother gushed. “I have just two breasts, so I can’t feed all three of my little wigglebutts at once, but we’re managing.”
Van Knutter declined our request for a photo, because she said a lot of people would call her crazy and there are those who might attempt to harm her or her puppies. “People already accuse me of being abnormal because of my relationship with Berkey and like any mother, I’m going to protect my pups.”
