Fisherman catches giant shrimpFORT PIERCE, Fla. – This shrimp isn't an average crustacean.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission posted several photos on Facebook from fisherman Steve Bargeron, who watched a fellow fisherman hook a massive crustacean at a These types of crustaceans have eyes on stalks that can move independently of one another, FWC wrote on its Facebook page.
Bargeron described the creature to FWC as being about 18-inches-long, and striking its own tail. It was grabbed by its back like a lobster. Scientists haven't determined the exact species. (It could be a type of mantis shrimp.) They are continuing to review the photos to determine its identity.Source: WTSP News, September 5, 2014.
