I just heard that some of the levees in New Orleans were breached and more than a million people are without power. Doesn't Jason live in New Orleans?

I just heard that some of the levees in New Orleans were breached and more than a million people are without power. Doesn't Jason live in New Orleans? Jason lives in Metairie, a rich subdivision of New Orleans where Anne Rice lives and where Metairie Cemetery is located. It borders Lake Pontchatrain and flooded during Hurricane Katrina, but unless the levees are totally compromised, there’ll probably be more wind damage than flooding. Besides, I would think people who choose to live in hurricane-prone locations know how to deal with high winds and flooding.

I would think people who choose to live in hurricane-prone locations know how to deal with high winds and flooding. That’s what I’d always thought until I moved to Florida. A lot of people are prepared and know how to deal with flooding and high winds, but I think they’re in the minority. Most people wait until the last minute to buy the things they need, and a lot of them go to shelters that should stay at home. Back in 2017 during Hurricane Irma, I listed to the weather reports that said the hurricane was going to hit northeastern Florida, instead of Lee and others who live here, who said it was going west, and evacuated to the western side of the state. Sure enough, the weather reports were wrong and when I got there, I ended up in a shelter. If I hadn’t put my faith in the professionals, I could have stayed at home in my own apartment. Every time I think of how dumb I was, I’m reminded of that article “Six ‘Professions’ That are Full of Crap” and one of those professions is weather forecasters. whatliesbeyond.boards.net/thread/7399/professions-full
But with that being said, Jason is very intelligent and he also seems to have a lot of common sense, so I’m sure he’ll be okay.
