Third Clue: The Cheyenne say ... _______
Second Clue: King’s wife _______
First Clue: Scorpio
_______ Please read carefully before attempting to name the Location.Following is the primary clue for Mystery Location No. 240:
Built in the 1950s, the last time the small three-bedroom home was for sale, the listing agent emphasized it was on a “quiet street.” What the ad didn’t mention is that the street was even quieter when a former resident was found dead in the house one cold Thursday morning some years ago. There were those who were convinced the lady recklessly invited a strange man into her domicile. Others wondered if the young mountain woman was simply out of her element in the somewhat transient city that served as the setting of a popular TV show.
Each day, a new clue will be posted until someone names the location, providing the street address, city and state, as well as the room or apartment number, if applicable, (or province/country if located outside the US) and an explanation as to how each clue applies to the location. If no one correctly names the location, the contest will end at midnight (Eastern time), Saturday, February 20, 2021. Please note, the contest ends at midnight in the Eastern Time Zone. If you live in a different time zone, please make adjustments so you will know what time it ends where you are.
You may discuss the location with other members by posting your comments using the “reply” option, but please do not attempt to name the location until you are absolutely certain of your answer and you are able to post the street address, city, state, etc., along with a photo, or link to a photo, of the Location.
For those of you who remember our old Mystery Locations contest, the point system has changed. Now, if you name the location on the first day, i.e., Sunday, before midnight (ET), you will receive 7 points. Thereafter, the points will depend on the number of clues that have been provided when you name the Location as indicated below. If you name the Location after the first clue, you will receive 6 points, etc., as indicated below. However, after the Sixth (last clue) is provided on Saturday, you must name the location before midnight (EST) Saturday night. Upon accumulation of sufficient points, winners may choose an item from our Prize List.
Sunday (or before First Clue is provided) - 7 points First Clue (Monday) - 6 points Second Clue (Tuesday) - 5 points Third Clue (Wednesday) - 4 points Fourth Clue (Thursday) - 3 points Fifth Clue (Friday) - 2 points Sixth Clue (Saturday before midnight) - 1 point
If you wish, you may collaborate with another member and if the two of you win, points will be divided between the two of you.
This contest is meant to be fun, so, as before, we ask that you conduct yourself accordingly. To prevent any accusations of favoritism, Steve has been advised of the name and address of the Location and will not be participating in this week’s contest.

This has to be 412 La Clede Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. On Thursday, February 14, 1985, Cassandra Rundle, age 37, and her two children, Detrick Sturm, 12, and Melanie Sturm, 10, were found dead in their home by her ex-husband – they had remained on good terms after the divorce. All three had been beaten with a hockey stick and strangled to death.
Cassandra, who was from Morgantown, West Virginia, had been divorced twice and against the advice of friends, advertised in the local newspaper hoping to meet someone. She described herself as “Blonde, green eyes, 5-feet-2 inches, 95 pounds, seeking a rugged individualist. Am a free spirit, independent, well-educated, somewhat shy, sensitive and enjoy life. Am a one-man woman looking for one good man.” On the night of February 13th, her ex-husband called and she told him she had a visitor, which he assumed was a man she had met in a bar. The case has never been solved and investigators believe she invited the wrong man home that night.
Cassandra Rundle was born under the sign Scorpio.
The TV show Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, starring Jane Seymour, was set in Colorado Springs. Sully, Dr. Quinn’s male friend and later husband, prefaced just about everything he said with, “The Cheyenne say.”
“Jane Seymour” was the third wife of King Henry VIII – a King’s wife.

So interesting, Julia - I had never heard of this one before. It reminds me a bit of the Mainline Murders, but I think that is just because of the mother and two young children aspect of the case. If you are into podcasts, I found one about this case. I have only listened to the first episode, but it was interesting and pretty well produced (run by the Colorado Gazette)... coldcase.libsyn.com/episode-1-shine-a-light-on-me

I much prefer reading to listening or watching.

Thanks, but I find the voices of 99+% of podcasters irritating, as is the voice of the woman on this particular podcast. I much prefer reading to listening or watching. Another problem with podcasts is that 99+% of podcasters don't know what the hell they're talking about. In this one, one of the irritating podcasters says: "Their bodies were at room temperature, suggesting the crimes were fresh."This is incorrect. The average body temperature is around 98 and assuming the house was around 68 degrees, this would mean their body temperatures had dropped 30 degrees, indicating they had been dead for hours.

Sully never had an original thought, Dr. Quinn was an obnoxious know-it-all, and the show was way too politically correct for the time period.
