Beware of Democrats at the Door

Santina Walker and Cesar Guerrero, both 19, have been making an extra effort while passing out flyers for the Democratic candidates in the upcoming, hotly-contested runoff election in Georgia’s senate race: They’ve been swiping packages outside people’s doors.

Columbia County deputies discovered parcels addressed to various individuals in a car driven by Guerrero during a routine traffic stop. The pair of thieves were arrested and intact parcels, as well as those that had been opened, were returned to owners.

It is unclear at this time if the two were employed by a Democratic organization to pass out the flyers. Spokespersons for the campaigns of both Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock have denied Walker and Guerrero were associated with their teams.

“Porch Pirates,” i.e., those who swipe packages delivered by Amazon and other retailers, have become a major problem in the U.S., particularly during the holiday season. It is estimated that between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Americans lose close to 2 million packages per day to thieves.
