Around 10:45 on the night of Sunday, December 29, in Saratoga County, New York, a loud explosion shook buildings and turned the sky green. Those who initially reported the boom suspected a blown transformer, but the calls were too wide-spread, coming from Ballston Spa, Edinburg, Galway, Greenfield, Milton and Providence.
A spokesperson for the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said the office has been in contact with National Grid (the electrical and natural gas utility company), the West Milton Naval Base and the FAA, but none reported any anomalies. “We have also been in contact with the FBI as part of the investigation,” the spokesperson continued. “The investigation is ongoing, however, there are no additional leads at this time.”
The sheriff’s office asks that anyone with knowledge of the explosion call (518) 885-6761.
