That's true, Joanna, it's easy to get lost in the woods. I live in Appalachia and we have folks get lost in the woods and some of them aren't ever found.

I've heard of Spring-heeled Jack, but I don't know much about him. If anybody has any good articles to post about him, or knows a lot about him, please post it.

I've got to where I print the Today in History articles and take them to work and some of us discuss them if there aren't any calls and we don't have much else to do. I had heard the name Natalie Wood and I'm sure I've read a few things about her on news sites, but I didn't know about how she died, at least not that there were some doubt about what happened. If the captain did hear the husband tell someone to get off of his boat, he would have had to be talking to the actor who was with them because his wife owned the boat also.

Another excellent article! I kind of wonder if the Secret Service doesn't have some kind of seniority system where the more senior agents get first choice for trips like that.
I had not know about Oswald and his wife fighting about Kennedy. Sometimes, people do things for reasons that other folks can't understand. If whoever was setting up the shooting was trying to find someone who worked in that building to help, Oswald would have been a natural choice because he had been to the Soviet Union and was a Communist, but if he really was upset about his wife liking Kennedy, he could have agreed to help just for that reason even if it sounds crazy.

I've never seen that picture of the Kennedy shooting before and he doesn't look natural. People crumple when they're knocked out from a gunshot or anything else and he looks as stiff as a board.

I think that there's such a big build up to Halloween in groups like this one that once it's over, people just sort of take a break. Kind of like with Christmas. People are all excited waiting for Christmas Day and then it's over in a few hours and they feel a little down and need a little time to recover.

Not just women, kids should also scream, kick and do anything that they can to get away. The worst thing that a woman or kid can do is to cooperate. If there are other folks around, a man isn't going to want to attract attention by someone screaming and fighting them and they will take off rather than get caught.
This is another great Today in History story, Lee. But I do have a question. It looks like Debbie Kent had already left when Bundy was seen breathing heavy. What could he have been doing that made him breath heavy and if he had already abducted the girl, why did he return and sit down? It doesn't make any sense that he would have grabbed her and then went back inside.

Is this one of the reasons that people who call themselves real witches, or that know about real witchcraft, think that Wiccans are just playing at being witches?

Very spooky story, Lee!
April: Did you ever go to the Masonic Cemetery to see the lady in black?

I agree. When something is that far back, it's hard to figure out what folks were thinking, because they didn't think like we do, but the church was trying to discourage superstition and that could be why he didn't say anything about the demon dog. Also if he had, he might have got in trouble with the bishop, or whoever he answered to.

This is a good article. I'm learning things about the Ouija board that I didn't know before. Thanks for posting it, Joanna.
