It's funny: I've been to England but I've never been to Maine. I've read many posts and comments on this site about Maine and I so want to go and walk along the shore as the fog rolls in. I've never been to Maine either, but I've wanted to go ever since I started reading about the Dark Shadows trips Catherine and the others take.

There was a program on TV about the Circleville letters recently and this time, I paid close attention. I agree with others who have commented in that I don't believe the man who was charged and imprisoned was the letter writer either. He may have written some of them, but he certainly didn't continue writing and mailing them from prison. I was also shocked that the so-called handwriting expert based her findings on the way the letter writer wrote the letter "g" rather than several factors, when it's easy for a person to alter the way he writes certain letters. I don't think she knew what she was doing. I think someone else was behind most of what happened and they set up the Freshour man. According to the article, he even got a threatening letter in prison. Since prison mail is controlled, how could he have written a letter to himself and mailed it without the prison officials knowing about it?

Has anyone tried this recipe? I'm thinking about making it for Halloween this year.

If her boyfriend did the killing, why doesn't this woman just admit it and tell police where the body is buried?

The stories of these hauntings are great, and if the building looks like it does in Rosemary's Baby, it is spooky. It's just hard for me to believe that people are aware of ghosts in a place as big and noisy as New York City. Old buildings like The Dakota have very thick walls, so it's probably not noisy inside. I can understand why people might see and hear ghosts when they're home at night, even in New York City.

I read The Life and Curious Death of Marilyn Monroe by Robert Slatzer but later on I read that a lot of it wasn't true, such as claiming that he and Marilyn got married in Mexico, but the studio had the marriage annulled, so there was no record of it. I also read somewhere that he made up the story of the women playing cards who supposedly saw Bobby Kennedy at the house the day she died. I think he also claimed that he got her pregnant and was with her when she had an abortion in Mexico. I think he was fixated on Marilyn and imagined that they were a lot closer than they were.

This doesn't make any sense. If there's not enough evidence to charge the person who actually committed the murder, how can this man be charged for conspiring with him to commit murder?

The waiver is to hold the owners harmless if someone should get hurt while in the cave. The ground is wet and slick with moss, and there's nothing to hold onto but the stone walls, on which there are big, ugly cave spiders. In some places the overhead is so low that people have to bend down to pass through. People with claustrophobia or arachinophobia should avoid the Bell Witch Cave and caves in general. The reason I asked is because the post on the other site sort of implied that the reason for the waiver was because there was something of a paranormal nature in the cave that could cause some kind of harm to a person.

I saw on some site that before you're allowed to go into the Bell Witch Caves that you have to sign a waiver. Is that some kind of gimmick to attract visitors, or is there some other reason?

The Extraterrestrial Highway is interesting, one reason being that millions of stars are visible that make everything seem somewhat spooky. We weren't followed by any UFOs, but we talked to people at the Little A'Le'Inn, where we stayed two nights, who swore they had been followed by strange lights while driving the highway after midnight. I lived in Alaska for several years and because there are no large cities, the night sky is full of stars, except during the time of the Midnight Sun.

I've never understood how someone swimming just suddenly sinks unless they have a heart attack or something, and this man was only 23, so I doubt that he had a heart attack. People can get a bad cramp or maybe become too tired and when they try to get more air, they can sink. Also, because men don't naturally float as well as women, they're more likely to sink and drown. I don't think I've ever heard of a woman who is a good swimmer suddenly going under the water and never resurfacing.

I've heard that the State of Florida won't say where Nikolas Cruz is being held in prison. If true, why not? Florida is known for giving out all kinds of personal information about people.

In the Kirstie Alley movie, the black actress, Gloria Reuben, who played Tituba, was dressed better than Ann Putnam and most of the other villagers, and she walked to the graveyard with the baby's body along with the Putnams and other people in the community. In real life, she would probably have stayed home to cook and do housework, or if she did go to the funeral, she would have walked with other servants, not with the village leaders.

Has anyone seen either Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar or Agatha and the Midnight Murders? They're described as British alternative history dramas about Agatha Christie. Both those shows were shown on the PBS station where I live and they were so boring I couldn't watch either of them all the way to the end.
