If anyone has a clue as to where this place is, they're doing better than I am.

This woman should be committed. Even animals know to wean their young.

The article says that he was charged with criminal solicitation, attempted capital murder, conspiracy to commit capital murder and attempted sexual performance. I don't understand how he could be charged with anything except maybe criminal solicitation, but even in that, all he did was say that he wanted to kill and eat a child, so who was he soliciting? How can he be charged with attempted murder or attempted sexual performance on someone who doesn't exist?

It's a shame that the state isn't preserving the old Neff House. At one time, there was talk that it might be turned into a B&B, but after the state took over, it's just been deteriorating.
The reason people built winter homes on Fort George Island was because of the mosquitoes. Even now at times there are so many mosquitoes in places that you can't even get out of the car, but they all die off after the first frost.

Congratulations, Julia. I didn't vote for No. 4, but it's an unusual house and the color is beautiful with those orange and gold leaves.
I voted for No. 7, because I've never seen a house with a tower that much taller than the house. The tower really stands out.
Mine was No. 11 and it didn't get any votes.

I can understand why people were afraid of being buried alive and now we know that you can't trust people in hospitals when they pronounce someone dead.
The story of Mary Howe is interesting. We had a case something like that in the Barbour family in St. Augustine, FL. The Barbour woman was definitely dead though and her family was keeping her in the living room trying to raise her from the dead. The court had to force them to bury her and by that time, they said that the smell was so bad that you could smell it from the street.

I just noticed that this thread says that it was created by me. It wasn't. I wouldn't even know how to create a poll.

I've never seen anything myself in the river, but I know people who have seen the grey, long-necked creature. The reason I think there aren't as many sightings now is because people seldom look at anything but their cellphones or iPads.

Of the 3 L&O shows, SVU was never my favorite. I liked the original L&O and Criminal Intent before Vincent D'Onofrio was replaced by Zack Nichols, who was played by Jeff Goldblum, who is so ugly I don't know how he ever got on TV. I never liked Chris Noth either, who was also on L&O Criminal Intent. He was my least favorite detective on L&O, too.
As for SVU, I've never liked Benson, not even before Stabler left. Her breathy voice and unnatural facial expressions are too much. I didn't like the Zack Nichols character either and I've never been a fan of Chris Noth. I also don't like Peter Stone (don't know his real name), the new ADA.

No, she didn't wear shorts to a funeral. And there was no loud music. It was a mock 'birthday party' for Devon at the cemetary. Devon's birthday invitations had already gone out to the children, and several had already purchased a gift for that party. Their closest little friends they played with everyday were asked to come to the cemetary party IIFC.
It was to show Devon and Damon's friends that even though D & D were gone now, they were in Heaven, and that was a GOOD thing. 'That's where they are so we're GLAD that's where they were' type of message to their little friends. The children who received the invitations didn't show up at the cemetery with their gifts. No matter what her intentions were, those Daisy Mae shorts, the chewing gum, the silly string, etc. were way out of line.
What does IIFC stand for?

Congratulations, Maddie. I kept looking for a place on the Mississippi, not the Missouri, which is also a mighty river and even longer than the Mississippi.

I totally agree. After the first SVU this season, the one about the school shooting, I haven't watched it anymore. In that one, that damned kid Noah defied Benson, which was probably setting the stage for a lot more of him in upcoming shows. Too much time is already devoted to her private life, which no one cares about. And what's with the other woman detective being pregnant? You would think that a woman working in sex crimes would at least know how to keep from getting knocked up. I haven't watched it much since Benson was put in charge of the precinct. But the few times that I have, instead of staying at the precinct and making command decisions and managing her detectives, she's constantly out doing the work of an ordinary detective, which doesn't happen in real life.
I think that the woman who plays Amanda Rollins is pregnant, but they should put her on desk duty or write her out of the show until after she has the baby. I always find it amusing how all these pregnant women on TV shows go about their work just like they did before when any woman who's ever been pregnant knows that's not the way it is. For one thing, you have to pee all the time and if you were riding around in a police car all day, you'd be having to be constantly stopping for bathroom breaks.

I just heard on the local news that a 3 year old girl in Jacksonville (Florida) is in the hospital with this illness.
