Child Dies in Hot Car While Police Officer Mom Has SexA former Mississippi police officer faces up to 20 years in prison for leaving her 3-year-old daughter to die inside a hot car while she had sex at her supervisor’s house. On Monday (March 18), Cassie Barker (above), 29, pled guilty to culpable negligence manslaughter in the death of her daughter, Cheyenne Hyer, inside her patrol car on September 30, 2016. The former Gulfport officer accepted the plea agreement to a lesser charge after being indicted on a charge of second-degree murder.
On the date in question, Barker went to the home of Clark Ladner, her supervisor, to talk with him at the end of her shift and the two engaged in sexual relations. It was 100° and she left the car running with the air conditioner on, but the vents weren’t blowing cold air. After sex, she fell asleep and slept for four hours, during which time her toddler was strapped in a car seat in the sweltering heat. When Barker finally returned to the car, the child was unresponsive. The little girl was rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel recorded a body temperature of 107°.
Barker had left the child unattended in a car on a previous occasion while she went into a store and a passerby called Gulfport police.
“I don’t know what I could ever do to you that could be worse than what you’ve already experienced,” Harrison County Circuit Judge Larry Bourgeois told her in court. “You will forever be entombed in a prison of your own mind.”
Barker and Ladner were fired following the child’s death.
Cheyenne’s father, Ryan Hyer, said he still cannot believe his daughter is dead. “As a parent, you are supposed to protect your child and Cheyenne is gone because her mother didn’t protect her, not once, but twice,” he declared. “May God have mercy on her soul.”
The former officer will be sentenced on April 1 and prosecutors are recommending 20 years in prison. Sources: KC Baker, People, March 19, 2019, and The Clarion-Ledger.

This woman had very poor judgment and I suspect that she has some kind of mental deficiency. I know that common sense is in short supply, but how can anyone, especially a parent, be so stupid that they would leave a child in a car for hours without checking? Leaving the car idling that long, I'm not surprised that the AC was blowing hot air and that's something else that she should have known and been checking. She was a police officer for God's sake!

Police Officer Mother Who Left Child to Die in Hot Car Gets 20 Years
Cassie Barker, 29, the former police officer whose 3-year-old daughter died in a hot patrol car in 2016, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Last month, Barker, who was charged with second-degree murder, pled guilty to manslaughter in a plea bargain deal.
At the time Cheyenne Hyer died in her mother’s police cruiser, Barker was working two jobs. She initially claimed she was talking with Clark Ladner, her supervisor, at his home early on a hot weekday morning after which she fell asleep. In actuality, the two were having an affair and after the two engaged in sexual relations, Barker slept four hours, during which time her daughter was strapped in the hot car. Ladner told authorities he had taken something to sleep and he, too, had fallen asleep. Both officers were subsequently fired by the City of Long Beach Police Department. Because Ladner allegedly did not know the child was in Barker’s car, he was not charged in the little girl’s death.
In April 2015, Barker left her daughter alone in a car at a Gulfport store, for which she was suspended for a week without pay.
Cheyenne’s father, Ryan Hyer (shown above with Cheyenne), who lives in Jacksonville, Florida, said he was never notified of the first incident. “Every time I close my eyes, I picture her suffering and then I picture her laying in this coffin,” he told the court. “I still see her smiling and laughing in my head and I would assume that smile and laughter turned to pain and suffering in that instance.” He is suing both the Long Beach Police Department and Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services for the wrongful death of his daughter, alleging the child welfare agency should have taken stronger action after the first incident. “As a parent, you are supposed to protect your child and Cheyenne is gone because her mother didn’t protect her, not once but twice,” he added.
Barker herself, who is now pregnant, was hospitalized following the little girl’s death for what officials described as shock. A psychological evaluation revealed the mother suffered from posttraumatic stress disorder attributed to childhood trauma and her daughter’s death. Nevertheless, she was found competent to stand trial.
Cheyenne Hyer is buried in Jacksonville, Florida.

So the stupid slut lets one child die while she's screwing her boss and now she's knocked up again. The police department in Long Beach, Miss., needs to revamp it's hiring process because no way should that ugly, dimwitted whore have ever been hired. Of course, we all know why she was hired: Because she's female and the department had to meet its quotas.

That bitch should have gotten another 5 years for not having those crazy-assed teeth fixed. Too bad she wasn't as interested in improving herself as she was in spreading her legs.
