Zak Bagans Pays $50K for Ted Bundy’s Glasses
The infamous glasses Ted Bundy wore as a disguise have a new owner: Zak Bagans. The Ghost Adventures star paid a whopping $50,000 for the bifocals that were listed for sale on a crime collectibles site.
It is believed Bundy wore the glasses during his abduction of 12-year-old Kimberly Diane Leach in Lake City, Florida, in February of 1978. Along with the glasses, Bagans obtained the original brown evidence bag, complete with the exhibit tag, and photo showing the glasses on the seat of the stolen Volkswagen Beetle Bundy was driving when he was pulled over and arrested on February 15, 1978, in Pensacola, Florida.
The specs, of course, will be displayed in the Haunted Museum in Los Vegas. “I shall forever keep them locked up inside my Haunted Museum’s real jail exhibit where they belong,” he declares. “It’s incredible to know that the eyes of pure evil looked out of these glasses at his victims and the pure hell of what these glasses saw.”
Basically, the museum is filled with a load of creepy stuff that fans of the macabre absolutely love. The new addition to the exhibition comes after true crime fans began stopping by 565 First Avenue in Salt Lake City, Utah, where Bundy once rented Apt. 2. (The place has been renovated and Bundy’s quarters are now designated Room No. 5.) The interest in Bundy’s old address came after the airing of The Ted Bundy Tapes on Netflix.
