8-Foot Ghost Appears in Pub PhotoHAMPTON COURT, London, England – Teacher Debbie Monteforte took this photo of her husband Alex and their son Raphael at Christmas – but they were in for a shock. Look very closely and you can see this pub is a favorite haunt of at least one regular. For in the top-right corner of the grainy image, a tall ghostly figure is pictured lingering in the background of a happy family snap.
A family friend said: “Debbie took the pic and thought nothing of it. But when they looked at it on a computer it was plain to see the haunted face of a woman wearing a long dark coat behind them. “The family insists there was no one standing behind them and there was no place to hang a coat. Even if there was someone standing there, they would have to be 8ft tall to appear like that. It’s beyond spooky.”
The Kings Arms Hotel is one of Britain’s oldest pubs and sits in the shadows of Hampton Court Palace in southwest London. The 300-year-old inn, near King Henry VIII’s former residence, has a dark past. In the 19th century, a boy is rumored to have found his mother hanged in the building. The lad was so disturbed he threw himself out a window and died. Both “ghosts” of the mother and son are said to have haunted the pub ever since. A grey-haired lady is also said to appear in a bedroom window.

Maybe someone walked by when the picture was being taken, or there was some sort of a doll/decoration in the background. I can't really make out a face, which would have been helpful.

I see what looks like part of a woman's face and what looks like her hand. I also think it was just someone walking past that they didn't notice. When I look at photos later, I'm always finding people, cars and things I didn't see at the time.

This happens all the time. People are always sending me photos with people in the background, and they will swear there was no one else there when they took the photo.
When you are focusing on taking a photo, you brain can tune out everything else around you except for the subject of your focus. This is true also for any time that you have your full attention on something, your brain tunes out all other details.
They have done studies and tests on this. There are even some videos on You Tube that you can watch to test this. One in particular shows people playing basketball, and they ask you to count every time the ball gets passed. During the video, they have a guy in a gorilla suit walk by, run around, wave, etc. He passes right through middle of the screen. Most people after having watched the video do not remember seeing anyone walk through the frame. They are so focused on the ball, they do not see anything else.
