I have a suggestion. We have a Thought for the Day and a Tarot Reading, so how about posting a "Today in History"? Lee, you could post them at the same time you do the Thoughts. I know you'd come up with some really great historical events, not the crappy ones that we see on other sites.

I like the idea because it could start a lot of interesting discussions, but I'm not sure that Lee will have enough time to do it in addition to the Thoughts for the Day and everything else.

I also like the idea. Maybe someone could volunteer to help Lee with the research. I would offer, but I'm not very good at researching things like that. I wouldn't even know where to begin.

I'll have to think about it. If I can find a lot of events that would be suitable: anniversary ghosts, murders, suicides, UFO sightings, serial killer birthdays/executions, etc., perhaps we could begin October 1. However, this is a tall order and finding such an event for every single day of the year may be too much. - Lee

Maybe all of us could pitch in and see if we could find stuff. Lee already does so much. Maybe it wouldn't HAVE to be everyday, only the days that we could find something interesting. We could all search the day prior and give our suggestions to Lee then she could just choose which she would like to use on the morning of. It wouldn't HAVE to be always Lee that has to post it either. Any one of us could do it.

I don't mind helping. Events like UFO sightings, murders and serial killer birthdays are easy to find.

Jason could help, too. After all, it was his suggestion.
I try to make my comments a dark blue, but I can't always tell what color they are after they post. Has anyone else noticed this? - Lee

I do mine in green, but they always come out looking black.

Lee-yours does look dark blue on my laptop screen, but it is so dark, it may be hard to tell the difference on some monitors. Joanna-yours is actually green, but like Lee's, it is a very dark, muddy green which is difficult to tell from black.
Is this purple to you?

No, it's more fuchsia than purple. This is purple on my monitor.

How strange! Kitty, on my computer, yours looks very dark like Joanna's and Lee's. I can see a purplish tinge, but it's almost black.

I think that's a cool idea, Jason. I was a member of another forum on Yahoo and we'd do a "This Day in History" only when on that day, it was someone's birthday. We'd also post famous people whose birthdays fell on the same day as that member's, in addition to the fact. Just a suggestion if posting a "This Day in History" daily is too time-consuming...

For those of you who remember when I did the negative horoscopes a couple years ago, I included the birth dates of murderers, gangsters, con-men, etc. for each sign and I still have those. Additionally, I've already received some dates of disasters, murders, disappearances and other mysterious or unusual events from Jason and I have a list of suicides of the rich and famous, anniversary ghosts (ghosts that appear on a specific date), as well as some other lists. If anyone knows the date of an incident involving a murder, strange disappearance, or anything else pertaining to death or the strange and unusual, please feel free to email them to me.

As I said before, I like the idea, but every day seems a little much to me and sooner or later we will run out of events. I suggest that we do a Today in History just once a week, perhaps on Friday. That way, it would be years before we ran out of events. We would also be able to post an in-depth background or story for each event and have more time to discuss it since it's my understanding that the purpose of these posts will be to initiate a discussion about the event posted.

I agree with Joanna. We already have the "Thoughts" every day and I think that a "Today in History" everyday would kind of be overkill.
