I am Monty's sister. He was a year younger than me. His given name on his birth certificate is Robert Montgomery Woody; but we all called him Monty. He and Ann are buried side by side in the same cemetery. My dad owned 4 plots, provided 2 for Monty and Ann and then was buried there after his death August 15, 2016. Monty would have been 60 today! Hard to believe it has been 29 years since my little brother was murdered! I miss him terribly. I have another brother, 3 years younger, and a sister 5 years younger. My mom and stepdad are still living. My parents divorced when I was little. We have been told the suspect is known, but not enough evidence to CONVICT. God knows and I trust in His judgment.
Does anyone have any idea why your brother and his wife were killed?
How is it so many know this case yet not one human being is chiming in. Let me shed some much needed light...
As it stands the evidence was removed from the evidence room. For a time a lot of evidence found it's way around the state in the form of firearms. Yet in this case the clothing was removed and destroyed. Dna evidence was conveniently destroyed. This chatter went around the community and spread like wildfire. So why no mention of it here? You say Topix did not expose anything... You obviously failed to see why they shut the site down. Too many cases were being solved! Too much corruption exposed.
I recall seeing "Dna evidence supposedly in a shirt pocket of an investigator, then suddenly lost?" Statements like, "dinner conversation with someone claiming that "@$!#" was a very bad dude, extremely close to them, and very capable of this murder." "A crazed man howling at moon on the golf course around that time..." Hmmmm
How is it no one can shed light?
Could it be that these new pleas for help were actually pleas to find out as to whom knows things? Notice no one has ever come forward. Why? Why so many murders with zero evidence? It's no secret folks have longed live in a "cover it up" community.
Let's imagine that to expose this murder, one would have to take the office, fire the current personnel, put buddies in the hot seat, and then get to the truth.
Rumor is they believe someone VERY close indeed comitted this crime. Why? Would this explain the actions of certain someone's during their lifetime. How they act, walk, and talk the way they do? Could it be that the closest friends and family actually cover up the crime for fear of their own safety? Look at this statement above from their own family. That has got to be the most suspicious of statements. "They are known, yet only God can handle it?" Could God be a clue. Could the killer be in church every Sunday. Maybe even a church staff member? Clue? Anybody. Anybody see that obvious clue?
In Bartow County it's like any other. The more you know, the bigger target you are. I would be willing to bet that an outsider got so close to the facts that they had no choice but to act as if they (Investigator) really wanted the facts. I speculate they have always known as to whom killed this couple. An old GOAT in investigations all over the world put it like this, "No matter the case, put the research on the table and walk away". In other words never take a case personal. Not all cases can be prosecuted. Murderers go free every single day.
The case? They simply cannot prove it without the dna evidence in which was conveniently destroyed, nor can they prove it without the clothing that was removed and destroyed.
My final conclusion. I truly believe the evidence was never destroyed. It's leverage. Perhaps the reason the commissioner would never stop staring at certain individuals during events. You don't stare with very skeptical eyes unless you're worried. Why is the commissioner woried? What does he know?
What does Tilley know?
What does Joe Frank Harris know?
What does the Sheriff himself know?
All I know is school teachers don't kill themselves on mountains no more than multimillion dollar big business owners suddenly suspiciously die while pursuing a Rico case against an old business partner. There's far more to figure out in Bartow County than just the Woody murders. The only way to do so is to hire a completely independent outside investigative source that cannot be bought or threatened away the same way Maurice Godwin was in the Ocilla Grinstead case.
One real question.
Why is it that GBI has been called out in so many supposedly "mishandled" investigations, yet no real changes made or prosecutions of inside personnel.
One more real question.
Why is it suddenly so quiet all over the state in so many cold cases and investigations?
Start at the top. Work your way down. There's simply far too many to prosecute. Far too much to expose.
I have no evidence. Yet I do have years of "sleuthing" that sure did paint a picture. You can smell the fear when you look at them a certain way. You can see it and smell it 1000 miles away with just one look...
So the real question. The only question that really matters.
What on earth could these people have done to make an entire community look the other way? Now that is the million dollar question!
