Haunted Wine Tasting RoomSHELBYVILLE, Ky. – The original tasting room at Talon Winery is located in the historic 1790s era farmhouse. The building has been transformed to function as a modern-day winery but when guests come for a wine tasting, many leave with more than just a bottle of wine.
"They feel someone come up and touch them on the shoulder as if they're getting a little caress," owner Harriet Allen said.
Those who work at Talon Winery believe the haunting is courtesy of Lexington’s infamous “Sweet Evening Breeze,” a man who liked to wear wedding dresses back in the 1950s.
"If they go to the stairway that's where they see the person in the white wedding dress with the dark hair," Allen said.
And just because they can't see him doesn't mean he's not there.
"We've had staff downstairs working and they can hear movement up here furniture being moved," Allen said.
But when they go to look, everything is in place.
Before it was a tasting room, this was a home to many families, some of whom may have never left.
"As they're leaving in the evening, they see children looking out the window sometimes upstairs and sometimes downstairs," Allen said.
Many said these are friendly ghosts who just happen to be a little curious from time to time.
"It's a warm feeling it's nothing scary or frightening it's not somebody jumping out and going boo but you just feel this warm presence," Allen said. Source: LEX18, March 31, 2014.
