Bartholomew County Courthouse Mysterious Explosion Shakes Southern IndianaShortly after noon (at 12:43 p.m. to be precise) a massive explosion was heard in the southern Indiana counties of Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, Monroe and Owen.
Susan Armstrong, director of Brown County Emergency Management said the explosion – or whatever it was – shook homes and buildings throughout the area.
At the Gatesville Country Store, a small grocery store located approximately four miles northeast of Nashville, owner Robin Stevens reported people in the store were shaken. “At first, we thought, ‘Is that thunder? No way.’ It wasn’t storming. It sounded like lightning at the back door.”
In Columbus, which is located in Bartholomew County, Kristi Nolker recalls being startled by a loud boom. “We were sitting at the front desk and we heard this loud kaboom, and it actually shook the building. We just thought, ‘What was that?’ We were just puzzled about what it was. ... It was very strange and no one can figure out what it was.”
Many residents called local police/fire departments and TV/radio stations reporting shaking and rattling windows.
An Indiana National Guard spokesperson confirmed there were no explosive or live fire training that could have caused the explosion, and the U.S. Geological Survey reported no significant earthquake activity in Indiana. Additionally, Robert Lunsford of the American Meteor Society said there were no fireballs reported in the area.Source: Brady Gibson, WISH, March 30, 2022.

There are dozens of these mysterious explosions all over the country and no one ever figures out what caused them. Is there a theory as to what's causing these unexplained booms? I read something once about booms being called the Seneca Guns, but I didn't really understand what was supposed to have caused them.

Is there a theory as to what's causing these unexplained booms? I read something once about booms being called the Seneca Guns, but I didn't really understand what was supposed to have caused them. I'm not sure what most people think causes them, but I've seen them mentioned in UFO forums, so some people apparently think they are the result of something extraterrestrial. The "Seneca Guns" is a name given to unexplained booms near Lake Seneca in New York's Finger Lakes region.
