Could this be the house at 2439 Dolphin Avenue in Jacksonville, Florida where Bonnie Haim was murdered by her husband Michael in 1993?

Bonnie disappeared from her home on January 6, 1993. After thwarting her plans to leave him, her husband killed her and buried her in their backyard. Bonnie’s son, Aaron Fraser, who was three at the time of her disappearance (he was eventually adopted after authorities removed him from the family home), was later awarded possession of the house as part of a civil suit against his father. In 2014, while excavating the backyard prior to renovations, Aaron discovered Bonnie’s skeletal remains.

At the time of Bonnie’s disappearance, the police suspected Michael of killing her but could not prove it. They had a psychologist interview Aaron who told them that he had seen his father push Bonnie down and shoot her.

The ‘Burbs is a Tom Hanks movie about neighbors in a cul-de-sac. The main character and his neighbors suspect some creepy new residents of burying a body in the backyard. In the movie, a garbage man proclaims, “I hate cul-de-sacs. There’s only one way out, and the people are kind of weird.”

Michael Haim was sentenced to life in prison in May 2019.
