Does anyone know what happened to Carole Ann Boone? Is she still alive? Most of the articles I've read online and in a The Globe magazine all say she died last year from septic shock. They also say she was living in a retirement home and was wheelchair-bound due to MS.

She was living in Apt. 313-B at the Ballard Landmark, a building for senior citizens in Seattle. She had developed multiple sclerosis and was confined to a wheelchair. She apparently developed a urinary tract infection that turned into sepsis, which isn't unusual in MS patients. Because she went by so many different names, it takes an inordinate amount of time to find out anything about her and ascertain if it's correct. The photo above was one of, if not the, last taken of her.

She latched onto Bundy, followed him to Utah and sneaked money to him when he was in jail in Colorado so that he could escape. Then when he was arrested in Florida, she quit her job, uprooted her son and insisted that Bundy marry her in exchange for all she'd done for him. The marriage was her idea, not his. If all that wasn't insane enough, she then got pregnant by Bundy, who was by that time on death row. Only a total whackjob would have done something so asinine. She then had to apply for welfare to help support herself, her son and the baby. Normal women don't do such things.
There was something seriously wrong with Carole Boone. She should have been charged as an accessory before the fact for the murders Bundy committed in Florida, because if she hadn't helped him escape, he wouldn't have been in Florida. She was such a loser she couldn't even keep the attentions of a man on freaking death row and after Bundy developed an interest in Diana Weiner, she packed up and returned to Washington state and changed her name and that of her kid in an attempt to conceal who they were. If she had cared anything about her children, she wouldn't have latched onto a freaking serial killer in the first place. She didn't deserve to be left alone and neither does her damned daughter. She brought everything on herself and her kid. Rosa, Rose, or whatever she's calling herself now will live the rest of her life paying for her mother's stupidity.

Wanting to know if Carole Boone is dead isn't the same as being interested in her. She was everything that you said, but I still find the fact that she's dead interesting.

I don't blame her for leaving. What could be more embarrassing than getting dumped by a man on Death Row?

I hope this will be of interest to some of you. A few years ago, I was a member of a site where there was another member who knew Liz, Ted Bundy's long time girlfriend, the one who wrote the book and has been making TV appearances. The person on the site, who was a woman, described her as "a little troll-like creature" who didn't seem very bright and when she posted about her, she would use words like "dingbat." But one of the things that I remember best was that she said Liz wasn't known for being truthful. Liz has updated her book "The Phantom Prince" and she has been a guest on talk shows and I've seen on other sites where some people don't believe everything she says. There are several discussions on this site about Ted Bundy and I would like to know if the people here generally believe what Liz says or if they think some of it is exaggerated.

I don't believe half what she says and I think when she was approached about the movie based on her relationship with Bundy, she's added a lot to the "story." I saw her and her crazy-assed daughter on some show and could tell they both relished their roles as victims of the big, bad wolf. Liz latched on to Bundy because she was a loser desperate for a man. Even after she became suspicious of his activities, she continued their relationship and exposed her young daughter to a man she suspected was a freaking serial killer -- not what I'd call the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree! There was something seriously wrong with the woman and she's making money from her stupidity.

When I was in the Navy, I knew a woman from Seattle who had worked with Liz Kloepfer and she said a lot of people referred to her as the “loony tune.” Apparently, she was something of a drama queen, who chattered on ad nauseam about her personal problems, but never took any steps to do anything about them. I think she’s one of those women who craves sympathy and attention and she’s playing the “victim role” to the hilt.

I think she’s one of those women who craves sympathy and attention and she’s playing the “victim role” to the hilt. I realize people have all kinds of explanations as to why women stay with abusive men, but it all boils down to insecurity. Ted was no prize package and he wasn’t as good looking as he’s been made out to be, but for someone like Liz, he probably came across as some sort of prince charming. Why else would she choose “The Phantom Prince” as the title of her book? It was bad enough that she put up with his shenanigans, but she had a child and she placed what she wanted ahead of her child’s welfare and that’s unforgivable. But do I believe everything she says? No I don’t. I think she and her daughter are both milking their sudden fame for all its worth.
