Virginia Democrat Accuses Republican of Engaging in Bigfoot Porn
Things got hairy for a Virginia congressional candidate after his opponent claimed he has an obsession with Bigfoot porn. Democrat Leslie Cockburn (above left) accused Republican Denver Riggleman of being hot for Sasquatch in a Twitter post that featured censored “erotic” images of the mythical upright-walking forest ape. “My opponent Denver Riggleman, running mate of Corey Stewart, was caught on camera campaigning with a white supremacist,” she wrote on Twitter Sunday – referencing his ties to the white supremacist Isaac Smith. Now he has been exposed as a devotee of Bigfoot erotica. This is not what we need on Capitol Hill,” she said.
Cockburn, who is the mother of actress Olivia Wilde, posted a screenshot from Riggleman’s now-private Instagram account showing an image of Sasquatch with a “censored” bar covering its genitals. She also posted an image from Riggleman’s account featuring the politician’s face superimposed over the beast’s chiseled bod.
Riggleman’s caption had read, “My ‘buddies’ thought this pic was fitting for my birthday next week and to celebrate my new book release in a month or 2… ‘Mating Habits of Bigfoot and Why Women Want Him.’” Riggleman, an Air Force veteran, later said the images are part of a joke his military friends played on him.
Whether or not he actually has a Bigfoot fetish, the congressional hopeful tried to cover up the images online, said Cockburn’s campaign manager Louise Bruce. “Leslie has been traveling throughout the district meeting with real people about real issues that matter to them,” Bruce told The Charlottesville Daily Progress. “Meanwhile, Mr. Riggleman is home scrubbing his social media of ‘Bigfoot erotica’ and who knows what else.”
Riggleman once co-authored a book entitled Bigfoot Exterminators, Inc.: The Partially Cautionary, Mostly True Tale of Monster Hunt 2006, according to the newspaper. The book is about people who hunt for evidence to prove the legendary upright-walking creature is real.
Riggleman’s running mate Corey Stewart, who is running against incumbent Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine, has come under fire over his support for Confederate monuments and ties to a white supremacist who led last year’s protests in Charlottesville.
