Haunted attraction abounds in Ghost Team One
Bros before ghosts?
In trying to impress a girl, two friends wind up attracting the weirdly romantic attention of a vengeful specter in the horror comedy Ghost Team One, which premieres on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday.
The movie, which was one of the spotlight flicks at the 2013 Slamdance Festival, sends up party films as well as Paranormal Activity and its ilk. Two roommates, Sergio (Carlos Santos) and Brad (J. R. Villareal), discover some really weird stuff is going on in their pad after one particularly crazy shindig, and it turns out that the fair Fernanda (Fernanda Romero) is real interested in things that go bump in the night.
Vying for her affections, the pair stashes cameras all over the place to film a documentary of the ghostly goings-on, and meanwhile Fernanda figures out their place used to be a brothel and it's being haunted by the deceased madam Lady Azalea (Felicia Horn). She's not resting in peace, and actually gets the horrific hots for the protagonists.
The Blu-ray and DVD have bonus features that include extended and deleted scenes – including one where Brad gives Sergio a hard time while he is recounting for the camera his first run-in with Lady Azalea – as well as bloopers, behind-the-scenes material and a video diary featuring Chuck (Tony Cavalero), a reformed party animal.Source: Brian Truitt, USA Today, December 13, 2013.
