The theory linking the Zodiac to the Santa Barbara and the San Diego killings of 4 teenagers would explain the clues in the Halloween Card that researchers online have correctly determined are clues planted by the killer.
I'm talking about the Okay sign with the 14 in the hand and the "4-Teen" on the other side (and is that a "4" in the right eye?). The Okay sign is often interpreted to have something to do with the number 6 etc. with the other fingers referring to 3. Do you see what I mean?
Rafael was born March 22, 1939. How would you squeeze that in?
Donald Bujok was born July 6, 1936 and they’ve fit that in with the front and back of the Zodiac Halloween card.
But now I think the symbols and codes are reading March 14.
I don’t know if that’s been said about the M with the extra line and 4 dots but it has been said online for a decade by Zodiac researchers about the Okay sign with the 14.
I agree with Madeline. You need to explain what you mean. I've never heard of Zodiac Halloween cards either. Tell us what you think the codes mean and we can discuss whether we agree, or if we interpret them in a different way.
It was invented to try to prove that you can find any name you want in the cipher. But since the cipher is unsolved and is probably fake, then he either randomly put in the symbols or he inserted names and words randomly like ZODAIK at the bottom. All the victims names can be found using this gadget, as I recall, first and last names separately with maybe Darlene's last name misspelled, which I think defies the odds. So why wouldn't his real name? Maybe I'll try Rafael and Cruz sometime.

You would still need a month so a number from 1-12 or an initial for a specific month or maybe go with October since it’s Halloween. That’s why I went with 14-3-1936.
Some think the numbers like 14 mean number of victims. But he was all over the place with that tally.
Why do you think the clue is a person's birth date? The 30 could mean there are 30 bones in each of the arms and legs, and 4 x 30 is 120, which could be reduced to 12, or 1+ 2 = 3. Or if it just refers to the arms, 30 + 30 = 6.
You could be right, Sam, at least with it not being a birthday. I'm willing to go with 14 as the number of victims and not a birthday. Richard Gaikowski called himself Dick so I can see a joke there with the bones and the pumpkin covering the skeleton.
The point is the codes and symbols need a key and one of the keys, if not the main or only one, is the identity of the killer. If that's the only key as in identifying a fingerprint, then you need a suspect for comparison.
Now they have his DNA and they don't need a suspect. They just put his DNA data in a Genealogical database and hire a genealogist to look at the family trees and practically hand them the suspect. I like the old fashion way of finding a suspect through detective work and going through the process of elimination and then doing the DNA.
Amateur sleuths have gone over cold cases and come up with suspects, and use their suspect to decipher the messages. Even if their suspect is wrong, the methods may be right. And their method may be wrong, but their suspect may be right. There was a "13 hole punch card" sent which the grandson of a NY cop said pointed to Donald Bujok because it was allegedly sent 13 years to the day after he killed a cop - www.zodiacciphers.com/zodiac-news/thirteen-holes-in-time .Quite a coincidence but I don't think it was Bujok even if the Halloween Card says Boo! These theorists can be very persuasive and fortunately I'm good now getting myself out of the rabbit holes one gets into in these unsolved mysteries, and seeing who and what is right.
PS. The MED in DOOMED is emphasized and followed by an exclamation mark and there's an eye drawn like a C nearby making MED!C, and Dick Gaikowski was a medic in the army.
