House of the Witch on SyFy October 7-8LEXINGTON, Ky. – A horror movie filmed in Lexington last May has made a pretty quick trip to its world premiere. House of the Witch, produced by Lexingtonian Bryan Sexton and shot in the old Madden family home off Winchester Road, will air at 9 p.m., Saturday, October 7, on the SyFy channel and again at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 8. The once-grand mansion called Meadowcrest (above) was a prime location because of its elegant history and currently dilapidated condition.
“I would call it a dream location,” director Alex Merkin said of the house in a May Herald-Leader interview. “I am always fascinated by locations like this. It’s one of the most amazing locations I’ve filmed in and been in.”
At the time the movie was being shot, it was called The Wiccan. The story centers on a group of teenagers – it’s always teenagers, isn’t it? – who decide to explore an old, creepy house. But soon, they become desperate when they discover they are trapped and a demonic witch is trying to kill them.
The trailer dropped what could be a signature line when one character yells, “This house is haunted, and not like Scooby freakin’ Doo, man!”
“Everybody’s death is super interesting,” Sexton proclaimed in his May interview.
The movie is part of SyFy’s “31 Days of Halloween” programming.Source: Rich Copley, The Lexington Herald-Leader, October 6, 2017.

Why does just about every movie have to be about freaking teenagers? I didn't like moves about teenagers even when I was a teenager.
