Following is the primary clue for Mystery Location No. 39:

The big old house with the four tall white columns, wide front porch and balcony was built in the early 20th century. Today, it is used as office space, but not so long ago, a child’s body was removed from beneath the cellar floor and the manner of his death and ensuing arrests and trials shocked everyone in the pleasant little town.

Each day, a new clue will be posted until someone names the location, providing the street address, city and state (or province/country if located outside the US) and an explanation as to how each clue applies to the location. If no one correctly names the location, the contest will end at midnight (Eastern time), Saturday, February 25, 2017. Please note, the contest ends at midnight in the Eastern Time Zone. If you live in a different time zone, please make adjustments so you will know what time it ends where you are.

You may discuss the location with other members by posting your comments using the “reply” option, but please do not attempt to name the location until you are absolutely certain of your answer and able to post the street address, city, state, etc., along with a photo, or link to a photo, of the Location.

For those of you who remember our old Mystery Locations contest, the point system has changed. Now, if you name the location on the first day, i.e., Sunday, before midnight (ET), you will receive 7 points. Thereafter, the points will depend on the number of clues that have been provided when you name the Location as indicated below. If you name the Location after the first clue, you will receive 6 points, etc., as indicated below. However, after the Sixth (last clue) is provided on Saturday, you must name the location before midnight (EST) Saturday night.

Sunday (or before First Clue is provided) - 7 points
First Clue (Monday) - 6 points
Second Clue (Tuesday) - 5 points
Third Clue (Wednesday) - 4 points
Fourth Clue (Thursday) - 3 points
Fifth Clue (Friday) - 2 points
Sixth Clue (Saturday before midnight) - 1 point

If you wish, you may collaborate with another member and if the two of you win, points will be divided between the two of you.

This contest is meant to be fun, so, as before, we ask that you conduct yourself accordingly. To prevent any accusations of favoritism, Kitty has been advised of the name and address of the Location and will not be participating in this week’s contest.

I couldn't sleep, so I decided to get up and solve this week's mystery location.

The location is 602 Fulton Street, Remsen, Iowa. It is the house where, on February 23, 2000 (exactly 17 years ago today), Timothy Boss, age 10, was beaten to death by his adoptive parents, Donald and Lisa Boss. Remsen is a pleasant little town with a population of around 1,650.

The Bosses, who were white, had a total of 11 children, 7 of their own and 4 black kids they adopted for the $3,000 per month they got from the state of Michigan. The four adopted boys were kept in a room in the basement that locked from the outside and they couldn't leave even to use the facilities and they were allegedly home-schooled.

After the body was discovered, Donald and Lisa Boss were arrested and some of their other adopted children testified as to what the evil couple had done to Timothy, who was retarded (what the politically correct crowd call a "special needs" child). Timothy called Lisa Boss "sexy baby" and he was punished by having his arms and legs tied to a metal chair, with his neck tied to a shelf behind the chair where he was sitting with clear plastic zip ties like the ones electricians use. After he was tied, he was beaten by both Donald and Lisa. When Donald Boss finally cut him loose, he slumped to the floor. They tried to revive him by placing his body in a tub of cold water. A few days later, one of the boys testified that he heard digging in the cellar. Donald Boss was sentenced to life. Lisa Boss pleaded guilty to four felony charges and received 50 years. The state of Michigan was supposed to keep tabs on the adopted children, but no one bothered to check on them until after Timothy's death. The people in Michigan didn't even know that the Bosses had removed the children from the state of Michigan to Iowa.

The clue "_____ chops" means "Iowa chops" and, of course, Iowa is the state where it happened.
