Man Arrested for Chucking Gator Through Drive-Thru Window
By Shamar Walters, NBC6 News A Florida man who allegedly hurled an alligator through a Wendy’s drive-thru window has been taken into custody, records showed. Joshua James, 23, faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, petit theft and unlawful possession of an alligator, according to Palm Beach County Jail records. He allegedly threw the 3½-foot reptile through the Loxahatchee drive-thru window after being served a large drink, according to an incident report from Florida's Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
James told investigators he had picked up the alligator on the side of the road and brought it to the fast-food restaurant. The gator was later released into a canal, according.
While the incident took place in October, James was taken into custody by U.S. marshals this week. Palm Beach County jail records show that a man with the same name and birthday was booked on Monday.
The 23-year-old has just been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as a result, as well as illegally killing, possessing or capturing an alligator.
But James’s parents insist it was just “a stupid prank,” adding that Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter who was killed by a stingray in 2006, is his idol. Attachments:
