By Matt McDaniel October 29, 2013 8:32 PMMovie TalkMovie monsters come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny Gremlins to the towering Godzilla. But it's a mistake to assume that just because they might be destructive, ugly, and extraordinarily grumpy, that they are all innately evil. Many are just misunderstood. With Halloween approaching, we classified our favorite movie monsters in an infographic, plotting out in chart form how big and how evil each one is in relation to each other. Take a look at how the monsters match up: The sizes range from the bloodthirsty biters from "Piranha" (which measure under a foot), to the city-stomping Kaiju from this summer's "Pacific Rim" (they can grow to nearly 600'). They aren't precisely to scale on the graphic, but we did take the measurements from movie dialogue, behind-the-scenes information, and the actual heights of the actors (Elsa Lanchester stood 5'4", but we figured her Bride of Frankenstein hair had to get her up to six feet). The other axis measures each monster's temperament, with the gentle Sasquatch of "Harry and the Hendersons" at one end, and the cackling wickedness of Freddy Kruger at the other extreme. Of course, just because someone (or something) is smaller and not intentionally sinister, it doesn't mean that they can't wreak havoc (take the telekinetic Carrie, for example). Are there other monsters you love that we missed? Tell us which ones and where they'd fit on the chart in the comments below. And also check out our infographic on movie zombies below to see just how dangerous a particular type of shuffling (or running) corpse is. Attachments:
