Did Nostradamus Predict Ukraine Invasion?
The obscure predictions of Michele de Nostredame (1503-1566), aka Nostradamus, stretch all the way to the “end year” of 3793. At one point, he predicted a time when “the East will weaken the West” and some believe this particular prophesy began February 24 when Russia invaded Ukraine in the largest conventional military assault in Europe since World War II.
Known as the “Prophet of Doom,” one quatrain in the famous seer’s book of 942 predictions, Les Prophéties, reads:
Twice put down, the East will also weaken the West.
It’s adversary after several battles chased by sea
will fail at time of need.
In another, he writes:
Blue-head shall white-head harm in such degree,
As France’s good to both shall e’er amount.
Many are interpreting these as a prediction the Russian invasion will affect numerous European nations, including France, and Nostradamus specialist Bobby Shailer believes the attack could lead to World War III “within the next several years.”
Nostradamus is credited with foreseeing a number of international events, including the Great Fire of London (1666), the rise of Napoleon and Adolf Hitler, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and the attacks of September 11, 2001.
Another seer, Baba Vanga (1911-1996), known as the “Nostradamus of the Balkans,” is credited with predicting several events, including the Chernobyl disaster, the death of Princess Diana, the 9/11 attacks and Brexit (the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union). Additionally, some claim she predicted Vladimir Putin will rule the world and the Daily Mail of Russia will become “lord of the world” after Europe is reduced to “wasteland.”
Such predictions, of course, are always vague and obscure, leaving them open to interpretation.
