Some friends and I were talking about ghosts yesterday and I remembered this story. If ghosts exist on another plane or in another time, or whatever, and like in this case, they walk on floors that are no longer there, how do some of them interact with the living? I've heard that some ghosts are more like a replay of past events, rather than an actual ghost, while others are spirits of the dead returning to the world of the living. I don't know what causes either and neither does anyone else, although so-called paranormal investigators pretend they know.

There's a place in England where people have seen marching Roman soldiers but the lower part of their legs are missing because the road today is higher than it was then. I can understand that because at one time, there were Roman soldiers marching on that road. But the building at Kenyon College totally burned down, so it can't be some kind of imprint because the students that return as ghosts never lived in that dorm.

I can understand that because at one time, there were Roman soldiers marching on that road. But the building at Kenyon College totally burned down, so it can't be some kind of imprint because the students that return as ghosts never lived in that dorm. According to the article, the phantom students seen in the new dorm are the spirits of the young men who died in the fire when the old dorm burned. However, because the haunting doesn’t seem to be a repeat of the night of the fire, perhaps the apparitions of these young men are simply returning to a place where they were happy. As we all know, spirits of the dead are more likely to appear in locations where they were happy, than where they died or experienced some sort of trauma.

Rereading this article reminded me that in less than 3 months, it'll be October!

There's a Law and Order: SVU episode called "Brotherhood" about hazing in a fraternity and the dead pledge's father, a lawyer, actually represented his son's killer in court. Does anyone know if it was based on the Stuart Pierson case?

Does anyone know if it was based on the Stuart Pierson case? I doubt the Law and Order writers have ever heard of the Stuart Pierson case.
