Marsden and Gray Man Suffers Broken Penis, Heard it 'Snap'Sean Marsden, 48, was getting frisky with girlfriend Louise Gray, 36, when he “slipped” and heard his manhood snap. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where surgeons operated on what was diagnosed as a penile fracture and torn urethra.
In an interview, Marsden, a painter and decorator who lives in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, said, “I heard it snap and I said to Louise straight away that something was wrong. I grabbed hold of it and it just grew and grew. I didn’t think it was going to stop. It went up to the size of a bottle of wine. It was beyond my control and scared me to death.” He admitted to being fearful he wouldn’t be able to “perform” again and might be left unable to impregnate a woman. “The pain was off the scale. It was really excruciating. It came in waves,” he continued. “I could actually see where it had broke and snapped. I knew that I had to go to hospital.”
Marsden and Gray had been dating six months and were doing it “doggy style” on December 22 when Marsden misjudged and his member impacted her pelvic bone.
He was treated at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where he was administered morphine and kept overnight.
A penile fracture occurs when the tissue fibers responsible for erectile function – the corpus cavernosum – rupture, causing an immediate loss of erection and severe bruising. Marsden’s penis was wrapped in bandages and a plastic rod was placed down the shaft to the base to ensure the muscle repairs straight – not “wonky.” Marsden was unable to walk for several days.
Gray admits to feeling “traumatized” and guilty. “I was in complete shock when it happened. I knew that something was seriously wrong. I could see the break and could see that it was broken. It was extremely traumatic and he has really struggled with it. I didn’t even think it was possible for a penis to snap. I felt so bad about it. I felt guilty and still feel guilty because I thought I was responsible. He’s been in so much pain and it has been awful to see. It was really scary when it happened. I didn’t know what to do. I felt helpless.”
Though things are back to normal, apparently, Gray still had misgivings. “It was a scary thing to do because I didn’t want to hurt him again,” she added, “It’s a relief that he can still have sex. He looked okay so I couldn’t say no. Obviously everything was working how it should.”
_________ This isn’t the first time a penis has snapped. Last summer, a father in India who took Viagra to boost his sexual prowess, snapped his penis after his son jumped onto his bed for a morning hug. The 36-year-old went to a hospital and complained of swelling, pain and a “deformed” penis two days after the incident.
The night before the injury occurred, he had taken 100 milligrams of the erectile dysfunction drug, the normal dosage for a man having difficulty performing. But afterward, his erection wouldn’t subside. He tried “vigorous masturbation” to relieve his problem, however, according to the British Medical Journal case report, nothing worked.
He decided to sleep, hoping his erection would go away during the night and the following morning, his child “mistakenly fell over his erect penis” causing it to snap and resulting in “sudden severe pain.”
Upon examination, doctors at King George’s Medical University in Lucknow, India, noticed an “eggplant deformity” on the man’s member and diagnosed a fractured penis. A penile fracture occurs when an erect penis is hit with considerable force.
The penis consists of three cylindrical tubes, two of which fill with blood when a man becomes aroused. The tissue surrounding these tubes also expands. But if the penis is hit with force, it can bend and cause a pressure overload in the tubes and rupture. In this case, the man had a half-inch tear in one of the tubes and a large blood clot. He was taken to surgery, where the blood clot was evacuated and the tear repaired. The surgery was successful and the patient was able to get an erection normally again.
According to the case report, the first surgical repair of a penile fracture was performed in 1936.Sources: Bradley Jolly, The Irish Mirror, January 31, 2019; Alexandria Hein, Fox News, January 31, 2019; and Andrea Downey, The Sun, August 15, 2018.

Why Do Brits Drive on the Wrong Side of the Road?Have you ever wondered why the British drive on the wrong side of the road? Believe it or not, there is historical precedence and it’s all about keeping one’s sword hand free!
In the Middle Ages, you never knew whom you were going to meet when traveling lonely roads. Most people are right-handed, so if you kept to the left, a stranger would pass to your right and your right hand would be free to dispatch him with your sword if necessary. (Similarly, the stairways in medieval castles spiral clockwise going up so that defending soldiers would be able to stab downward around the twists, while attackers, i.e., those ascending the stairs, would be at a disadvantage.)
Indeed, the “keep to the left” rule goes back even farther in time: Archaeologists have discovered evidence suggesting the Romans drove carts and wagons on the left and it is known that Roman soldiers always marched on the left. This “rule of the road” was officially sanctioned in AD 1300 when Pope Boniface VIII declared that all pilgrims traveling to Rome should keep to the left.
This continued until the late 1700s when large wagons became popular for transporting goods. Such wagons were drawn by several pairs of horses and weren’t equipped with a driver’s seat. Instead, in order to control the horses, the driver sat astride the horse at the left rear, thus keeping his whip hand free. Sitting to the left however made it difficult to judge traffic coming in the other direction, as anyone who has driven a left-hand drive car along the winding lanes of Britain knows. These huge wagons were best suited to the wide open spaces of Canada and the United States and the first keep-to-the-right law was passed in Pennsylvania in 1792, with many states and Canadian provinces following suit. In France, a decree in 1792 ordered traffic to keep to the “common” right and Napoleon later enforced the rule in all French territories.
But in England, there wasn’t much call for these massive wagons and the smaller British vehicles had seats for the driver to sit behind the horses. Because people are right-handed, the driver would sit to the right to keep his whip hand free. Traffic congestion in 18th century London led to a law requiring all traffic on London Bridge to keep to the left in order to reduce collisions. This rule was incorporated into the Highway Act of 1835 and adopted throughout the British Empire.
There was a movement in the 20th century toward the harmonization of highway laws in Europe and a gradual shift began from driving on the left to the right. The last Europeans to change from left to right were the Swedes, who bravely made the change overnight on Dagen H (H Day), September 3, 1967. At 4.50 a.m., all traffic in Sweden stopped for 10 minutes before restarting, this time driving on the right.
With the exception of nations once part of the British Empire or heavily influenced by the British, most countries today drive on the right. Among the most notable that drive on the left, other than the UK and Northern Ireland, are Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya and several other African nations including South Africa, New Zealand, Pakistan, and several Caribbean islands. The only location under US control where people drive on the left is the US Virgin Islands.Sources: Ellen Castelow, Historic UK, and WorldTravel.

Netflix Concerned Viewers Consider Ted Bundy 'Hot'Once again, Netflix is reminding subscribers not to lust after a killer and this time, it’s the man who inspired the term “serial killer” himself – Ted Bundy. The streaming giant took to Twitter this week to express concern over users’ discussions about the murderer’s good looks. “I’ve seen a lot of talk about Ted Bundy’s alleged hotness and would like to gently remind everyone that there are literally THOUSANDS of hot men on the service – almost all of whom are not convicted serial murderers,” Netflix tweeted from its official account Monday, garnering more than 20,000 retweets and 115,000 likes.
Many people were also perplexed by the recent “public service announcements,” including a user who replied: “Your last few PSAs have me worried that they even have to be mentioned in the first place.”
“The fact that this even needs to be said ....” another echoed.
“This clear disconnect of reality and fantasy staggers me. Ya’ll NEED help,” a third responded.
While it may seem odd, several viewers of Netflix’s new docu-series, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, cited the fact Bundy’s charming, clean-cut look played a major role in his killing spree. He’s often been described as “chameleon-like,” changing his appearance to evade capture. “He had his hair cut off and he changed his part from one side to the other and he made himself look completely different,” journalist Stephen G. Michaud, co-author of The Only Living Witness: The True Story Of Serial Sex Killer Ted Bundy, said in the Netflix special, per Oxygen.
Eventually – just before his execution – Bundy admitted to murdering more than two dozen women. He was sentenced to death after being convicted of killing two Florida State University sorority sisters and a 12-year-old girl. He died in Florida’s electric chair on Jan. 24, 1989, two months to the day after his 42nd birthday.
This is the second time in recent months Netflix users have been cited for their bizarre opinions. In early January, Penn Badgley called out fans of You for fantasizing about his psychopathic character – a bookstore manager who kills anyone he perceives as a roadblock when it comes to finding love with a woman named Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail). “I personally was troubled ...,” Badgley previously told E! News. “I understood the appeal, but I was really ambivalent. I was really troubled and that was also what [executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble] said was appropriate about me playing him. I remain ambivalent. I’m really questioning why people like Joe so much.”
Then there was the Bird Box fiasco: Following December’s release of the Sandra Bullock thriller, fans commenced sharing videos of themselves wandering about blindfolded doing the so-called #BirdboxChallenge, which is inspired by scenes from the movie. Netflix responded with a tweet urging viewers to rethink the viral challenge. “Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE,” the streaming service tweeted Jan. 2. “We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.”Sources: Jennifer Earl, Fox News, January 29, 2019, and Maeve McDermott, USA Today, January 29, 2019.

Australian Truck Driver Encounters 'Yowie'A Queensland man, who reported a “yowie” thumped the hood of his truck submitted the above sketch of the November 2018 encounter. The 53-year-old delivery driver, who asked to be identified only as “Gary,” claimed that since the incident occurred, he has been plagued by nightmares and that spotting the creature was the worst experience of his life. The yowie is the Australian version of Bigfoot.
The encounter occurred while he was driving in a bushy part of the Gold Coast hinterland. Gary described how he was forced to slam on his brakes when the creature emerged from the bush in broad daylight at Witheren. He eyeballed the 9-foot-tall creature before it thumped the hood of his truck and disappeared into the dense forest. “It was the worst thing that has ever happened to me,” he told The Gold Coast Bulletin. “I tried to push it [to] the back of my head and think ‘that was freaky, it just can’t be real.’ I just couldn’t get it out of my mind. I was having trouble sleeping at night.”
Prior to his encounter, Gary admitted he had never believed in such creatures and was fearful of people’s reactions to his story, including that of his wife. But in the end she believed him, he reported.
Unfortunately, the dashcam on Gary’s truck was being serviced on the day of the sighting and he didn’t manage to grab a camera in time to get a photo. “The whole thing lasted for five seconds and you are staring this monster in the face, watching it to make sure it isn’t going to step around at you,” he explained. “You are scared for your life, not grabbing for a camera.”
Gary has driven Beechmont Road only once since his encounter and said he doesn’t believe he’ll ever spot his hairy friend again. “I figure it is a one in a million thing … lightning doesn’t strike twice. On the other hand, I would like to see it with a camera just to prove it,” he added.
Gary told his story to Australian yowie hunter Dean Harrison, who has been logging yowie sightings across the nation for approximately 20 years. He believes yowies are out there, with most sightings following the line of the Great Dividing Range. “People should be vigilant and aware these things do exist,” he said.

Bundy Exhibit Opens at Pigeon Forge MuseumPIGEON FORGE, Tenn. – Today, January 24, 2019, marks 30 years since the execution of one of the most notorious serial killers of the 20th century: Theodore Robert “Ted” Bundy. In conjunction with this memorable day, the Alcatraz East Crime Museum is adding new items – some of which are being displayed for the first time – to its Ted Bundy exhibit. The exhibit is set up in front of Bundy’s infamous 1968 Volkswagen Beetle, which has been at the museum for some time. Among the items on display are letters archiving personal correspondence between Bundy, his wife Carole Ann Boone and J. Victor “Vic” Africano, during the Kimberly Leach trial. There are also photographs, cards and a radio given to Bundy by his mother which he kept in his cell on death row.
The exhibit coincides with the upcoming film, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, starring Zac Efron as Bundy. The film will focus on Bundy’s relationships with girlfriend Liz Kloepfer, who wrote The Phantom Prince, and Carole Ann Boone, whom he married in the courtroom during the Leach trial. The film is set to debut at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday, January 26.
“Ted Bundy has always held an extra fascination for our visitors and many come specifically to see his Volkswagen Beetle that was such a big part of his crime spree,” explains Rachael Penman, director of artifacts and exhibits at Alcatraz East Crime Museum. “Now museum visitors will have a glimpse inside his frame of mind in the years after his capture and his relationships with his former girlfriend Liz and wife Carole.”
The infamous 1968 Volkswagen Beetle Bundy owned is associated with numerous murders in Washington state, Oregon and Utah prior to his arrest in a stolen VW in Florida. The tan VW later yielded important forensic evidence linking him to some of the murders.
It is hoped the limited time display will shed light on the private side of the notorious killer. General admission tickets are $24.95 for adults and $14.95 for children. Source: WATE, January 24, 2019; and WVLT-TV, January 23, 2019.

Satanists and Netflix Settle Baphomet Issue
The Satanic Temple’s $50 million lawsuit against Netflix and Warner Bros. TV over an allegedly “misappropriated” use of the statue of Baphomet that appeared in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been “amicably settled,” a representative of the studio advised. Warner Bros. – which is handling all correspondence on the lawsuit that was filed in early November, for both itself and Netflix – did not comment further on the matter, which the company said is a “confidential settlement.” Warner Bros. did not disclose whether a monetary settlement was reached with the Satanic Temple, a nontheistic religious and political activist group based in Salem, Massachusetts.
“The Satanic Temple is pleased to announce that the lawsuit it recently filed against Warner Bros. and Netflix has been amicably settled,” Lucien Greaves, co-founder of The Satanic Temple, told TheWrap. “The unique elements of the Satanic Temple’s Baphomet statue have been acknowledged in the credits of episodes which have already been filmed. The remaining terms of the settlement are subject to a confidentiality agreement.
“I have gotten quite a bit of hate mail from people seemingly basic enough to conceive of the situation as one in which a large powerful Satanic organization is using its might to bully an uncertain and innocent teenage witch who has just been newly exposed to the wide, cruel world,” Greaves continued. “One email implored me to not ‘ruin’ a show that ‘just tries to bring joy into the world.’
“When I read these things, I can’t help but wonder when the last time was that any of these angry commenters wrote to a public representative or approached any issue of importance in any way. Ironically, however, many of [sic] messages put the blame of misallocated outrage upon us, some of them saying they liked us better when we focused on Church/State issues. More than a few people seem to think that because this story gained so much media attention that we, too, have been disproportionately focused on this issue.”
Greaves refused to say whether or not a monetary settlement was reached.

I wouldn't want her or that crazy freak she's living with as my neighbor. There's a term for two violent, demented people who get together and do things they wouldn't do alone, so think of what two people like Fromme and her killer boyfriend might do. The term you’re thinking of is folie à deux, which means a delusion or mental illness shared by two people in close association. People with similar interests naturally gravitate to each other. Fromme and Valdner are two of a kind. I wouldn’t want either of them as a neighbor either and together, they represent even more of a threat.

Super Wolf Moon Eclipse: January 20-21The Wolf Moon will reach its full phase just after midnight on the January 20-21and moongazers in North and South America and northwestern Europe will be treated to a full lunar eclipse. People in central and eastern Africa and Asia will see a partial North and South America, Europe and western Africa. Central and eastern Africa and Asia will see a partial eclipse. On the eastern coast of the United States, the moon officially reaches its full phase January 21 at 12:16 a.m. (EST).
Different cultures around the world have assigned various names to each full moon of the year. In America, the first full moon is called the Wolf Moon because it was during this time – in the dead of winter – that Indians could hear hungry wolves howling in the night outside their villages. The Colonial settlers adopted the name for the same reason. The January moon is also called The Old Moon.
A “super” moon occurs when it is relatively close to earth in its orbit, making the moon appear bigger than usual. “Blood” refers to the reddish hue cast by Earth’s shadow during a lunar eclipse. The colors of this blood moon will peak around 10:30 p.m.

To Catch a Predator Host Arrested for Bouncing ChecksTV journalist Chris Hansen, known nationally for confronting would-be child predators, has been snared himself after passing worthless checks amounting to approximately $13,000. The former To Catch a Predator host was arrested Monday (January 14) in his hometown of Stamford, Connecticut, charged with issuing a bad check and released on a promise to appear in court.
Police say the 59-year-old journalist wrote two worthless checks to a local vendor for 355 mugs, 288 T-shirts and 650 vinyl decals he purchased in the summer of 2017. Peter Psichapaidas, the owner of the company, said he received a check from Hansen for $13,200 in April 2018, but it bounced. Hansen responded in an email claiming he “sold a boat” to cover the check. “Peter ... I truly thought I had this covered,” Hansen wrote. “I am scrambling to get it done. Please give me till the end of the day. I sold a boat to cover the rest of this and need to pick up the payment this afternoon.” However, according to Psichapaidas, such payment was not forthcoming.
Psichapaidas contacted the DA’s office about the worthless check, but Hansen failed to appear to make a statement to police. The charges were filed after the well-known TV host was warned he could be arrested for larceny. “I told Chris … that nearly $13,000 is a lot of money to a ‘mom-and-pop’ business and it is not fair that he accepted the material, but hasn’t paid for it,” investigator Sean Coughlin advised.
NBC’s To Catch a Predator ran from 2004 to 2007 and included sting operations for online child predators. More recently, in August 2016, Hansen replaced Matt Doran – whose thick Australian accent was irritating to American viewers – on Crime Watch Daily.Sources: Fox News and The Associated Press.

Afghan Singer is Justin Trudeau's Doppleganger Abdul Salam Maftoon, 29, an Afghan reality show contestant has become an unlikely hit thanks to his resemblance to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Maftoon, a finalist on Afghan Star, was just another performer until one of the show’s judges mentioned his similarity to the Canadian leader.
“People have forgotten my name and now they just call me ‘Justin Trudeau,’” Maftoon told Agence France-Presse. “I didn’t know anything about Justin Trudeau until I saw the photos on social media.”
Qais Ulfat, one of the show’s judges, is both Afghan and Canadian and said he spotted the similarity immediately. “I noticed he looked a lot like my prime minister,” he told the BBC. “So I started giggling around with the host.”
Afghan Star, roughly the equivalent of American Idol, has been an enormous success in Afghanistan since 2005, just after the fall of the Taliban. The terror group has reportedly threatened the show, deeming it “un-Islamic.”
Maftoon, who works in his home province of Badakhshan as a wedding singer, now finds himself among the final eight contestants on the show. His musical skills have made him a standout since this season began and even the judges are rooting for him. “He is a very, very talented artist,” Ulfat said. “I wish him the very best.”
Because of his newfound fame as Trudeau’s doppleganger, the husband and father of four’s chances of winning Afghan Star have increased. “The resemblance has boosted my chances of winning the competition by 50%,” he said. The show’s finale will air March 21, the evening before Persian New Year.
Maftoon hopes he will have a chance to meet Trudeau some day. “I want to meet him if he wants to because he is a global personality and I am a poor man from a remote part of Afghanistan,” he added.Sources: Anna Hopkins, Fox News, January 15, 2019, and The National, January 14, 2019.

Durst Ordered to Stand Trial
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office has announced that New York real estate heir Robert Durst, 75, has been ordered to stand trial for the December 2000 murder of Susan Berman. Superior Court Judge Mark Windham issued the order on Thursday (October 25) after determining there is enough evidence to support the charges of murder with special circumstances. He also faces gun use allegations. Durst’s next court date is November 8.
Judge Windham found that statements by various witnesses who testified Berman admitted helping Durst by providing him an alibi in the case of his missing wife, Kathleen “Kathie” Durst, were admissible pursuant to the forfeiture by wrongdoing doctrine.
Berman served as Durst’s unofficial spokesperson following his wife’s disappearance. Over the years, she told friends Durst acknowledged killing his wife and she helped him cover his tracks. Prosecutors hope to use these hearsay statements at trial, which defense attorneys have vigorously challenged. Berman told one friend who testified at an earlier hearing that if anything happened to her, Durst would be the culprit.

Netflix Sued over False Allegations in Making a MurdererA retired Wisconsin sheriff’s officer involved in the investigation of the murder at the center of the popular Netflix documentary series Making a Murderer is suing its creators and the streaming service. Andrew L. Colborn, formerly of the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, claims the filmmakers distorted and omitted key facts concerning the 2005 murder of freelance photographer Teresa Halbach and falsely accused him and others of planting evidence in the case. Steven Avery and his 16-year-old nephew, Brendan Dassey, were convicted of the murder in 2007.
“Despite overwhelming evidence proving Avery and Dassey’s guilt and the utter absence of evidence supporting defendant’s accusations of police misconduct, defendants falsely led viewers to the inescapable conclusion that plaintiff and others planted evidence to frame Avery for Halbach’s murder,” the complaint charges. “Defendants omitted, distorted and falsified material and significant facts in an effort to portray plaintiff as a corrupt police officer who planted evidence to frame an innocent man.”
Avery’s blood was discovered in Halbach’s vehicle, which was found at the auto salvage yard owned by his family. Avery claims he is innocent and the blood and other evidence were planted to frame him.
Netflix declined to comment on the lawsuit. CNN has reached out to filmmakers Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos. Ricciardi and Demos worked on the 10-part series for years before releasing it on Netflix in December 2015. It won multiple awards, including Emmys for outstanding documentary or nonfiction series, and outstanding writing and direction for nonfiction programming. A sequel was released in October.
Colborn’s lawsuit insists he was not a public figure prior to the series and enjoyed an impeccable reputation. “During the intervening three years, plaintiff has been subject to worldwide ridicule, contempt and disdain as a result of the baseless and false assertions in MAM (Making a Murderer) that he planted evidence to frame an innocent man or strengthen the case against a guilty one,” the lawsuit charges. It is alleged Colborn has been the subject of hundreds of articles, television and radio segments that portray him in a negative light, threatened and insulted on social media, and that he has received threatening messages and recorded enough of them to fill 28 compact discs.
Colborn is requesting a jury trial and demanding a retraction and an “honest clarification of the erroneous and false statements and depictions described above to clear his good name and restore peace of mind.”
In June, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to take up a case concerning Dassey’s confession. Source: David Williams and Chris Boyette, CNN, December 18, 2018.
