Mother of 3 Drowns in Icy Pond Trying to Save DogWYOMING, Mich. – Tracy Cashman, 38, a mother of three, drowned in an icy pond Saturday night while attempting to save her dog. She was found beneath the ice at Battjes Park across from her home early Sunday morning.
The woman was walking her dog, Lola, around 8:30 p.m. when the animal – which she allowed to run off-leash – crashed through the thin ice into the frigid water and Cashman, exercising very poor judgment, went in after the animal.
The dog, of course, got out of the water and returned home, where Cashman’s 19-year-old son noticed the animal was soaking wet. “The dog came back and she [Cashman] didn’t and I figured she was just looking for the dog so I waited and I guess I waited too long,” Jerome See, Cashman’s boyfriend told Fox17. Family members began searching for Cashman, but failed to locate her and called police around 12:30 a.m. The woman’s body was located a short time later.
Cashman was an administrative assistant with the operations and transportation services of the Godfrey-Lee School District, where she had worked for 15 years.
In addition to her son, Cashman leaves two daughters, ages 18 and 12. A GoFundMe page was created to help with funeral costs.
Cashman isn’t eligible for a Darwin Award because she had children. Darwin Awards are for those who remove themselves and their defective genes from the gene pool before they reproduce and pass along their stupidity and misplaced values to offspring. Things like this make my blood boil. That woman had a 12 year old child at home that needed her mother and instead of thinking about her daughter, she jumps into an iced over pond to save a worthless dog.

Things like this make my blood boil. That woman had a 12 year old child at home that needed her mother and instead of thinking about her daughter, she jumps into an iced over pond to save a worthless dog. For the rest of their lives, when it gets close to Christmas, all three of those kids are going to remember losing their mother. I feel sorry for all of them, except for the bitch who proved that she cared more about the damned dog that she did her children.
