Do Sex Dolls Turn Men into Dahmer-Type Serial Killers?
Men who use sex dolls could turn into psychopaths like cannibal necrophiliac Jeffrey Dahmer, experts claim. After his arrest in 1991, Dahmer confessed to using a mannequin dummy for sex before he became a blood-thirsty serial killer who murdered 17 men.
The Sun Online spoke with Professor Kathleen Richardson, an expert in Ethics and Culture of Robots, about Dahmer’s use of sex dolls and obsession with having complete power over his sexual partners. After stealing a mannequin dummy from a store in Milwaukee, Dahmer progressed to living partners whom he met in gay bath houses. But after becoming frustrated by having his partners move during sex, he began drugging his lovers and raping them after they passed out.
In 1987, Dahmer embarked on a killing spree that included necrophilia. He also attempted to create “zombie sex slaves” by drilling holes in the heads of his unconscious victims.
Professor Richardson, of De Montfort University in Leicester, believes there is a link between Dahmer’s use of sex dolls and his killing spree. Asked whether the use of sex dolls could attract psychopaths and potentially turn people into sociopathic killers like Dahmer, Richardson replied, “I would absolutely agree with that. You cannot learn empathy from a doll. It’s not a person. It’s not alive and the only thing going on is what’s inside you. There is evidence to show that men who use human prostitutes lack empathy, and how would you develop empathy if you’re with a doll? Empathy is about thinking about and feeling what someone else is experiencing – and if you’re having a sex with a doll, you don’t have to think and feel what it’s experiencing.”
Dahmer even admitted he viewed his lovers as “objects.” According to Dahmer biographer Brian Masters, Dahmer said, “I trained myself to view people as objects of pleasure instead of people.”
Russian sexologist Lev Shcheglov agrees the use of sex dolls can lead to psychopathic disorders. “Sex with a robot is just a fake imitation,” he told Sputnik. “And it can lead to psychopathic disorders and isolation.” He added that the non-human interaction fails to create the “emotions that shape and bring sense to our life.”
Dahmer actually claimed his first victim as a teenager in 1978, killing hitchhiker Steven Hicks. He [Dahmer] was drunk at the time. Then he waited nine years to kill again after using a mannequin love partner while in his grandmother’s home.
The mass murderer, who was beaten to death in prison in 1994, killed almost all his victims in his apartment in Milwaukee from 1987 to 1991. He dissolved their bodies in acid and kept severed heads and bones in his filthy blood-spattered refrigerator. After one of the men escaped, police raided the human slaughter house in 1991.
During his trial the following year, prosecution witness Dr. Frederick Fosdal, who spent 17 hours interviewing the defendant, detailed how Dahmer used a power drill in an attempt to perform homemade lobotomies on some of his still-living, but unconscious, victims. Fosdal said the killer had grown tired of sex with dead bodies and instead wanted a live “partner” over whom he would have complete power.
On the subject of “power,” Richardson added, “I recently spoke to a journalist who visited a doll brothel in Germany and had sex with one of the dolls. He described the initial experience as ‘weird,’ but added that there was one moment where he felt very powerful and he said he got this sense that ‘I felt totally in control.’ So I think sex doll users are getting a sense of power and that could progress into power over real sexual partners.”
