I've only once experienced this. I had sat down in as near a lotus position as I can muster to meditate. I always use psychic protection before I get immersed in meditative states and I did so that day, holding in my mind's eye pillars that represent the four archangels standing in front of me, behind me and to either side. What I hadn't thought about is that this creates a tube going off into infinity in both directions. I'd barely finished when a black mass came down the tube towards me extremely fast. I was so alarmed that I broke the meditative state by opening my eyes and threw myself out of the way. I don't know what would have happened to me if it had reached me but I wasn't going to hang around and find out. I had just split from a partner with a dark past so I thought the attack probably came from him. He was horrified that I was coping on my own. There was no one else that harboured such animosity to me. Since then I have adjusted my protection prayers so that the energy from the angels is formed into an impenetrable ball around me. So far it's worked.
I'd be interested in hearing anyone else's experiences of psychic attack.

I'd be interested in hearing anyone else's experiences of psychic attack. I'm surprised that someone who believes in demons would engage in meditation. You're lucky you didn't "remember" all sorts of sexual abuse by priests and nuns like those crazy women in the Netflix docu-series, "The Keepers." BTW, as a Catholic, what do you think about those allegations? Have you read the two threads on this site about "The Keepers" and the murder of Sister Cathy, the nun? I don't think we have many Catholics in this group and I'd like to know your thoughts. Here are the links:

Jason I'm a Catholic mystic - I see visions and these are accepted as real by the church. Some of the priests are scared of me and others even treat me with reverence. There is a long history of mysticism in the church and I am part of that heritage. I am not prepared to share any of visions on this website. The church has attracted men with abusive natures because of the privileged position it gives them. They are manipulative and wicked but this is a minute percentage of the total number of ordained priests and they do not represent the teachings of the church. It's like saying all Muslims are terrorists.

It's like saying all Muslims are terrorists. I never asked you to share your visions on this website. I simply questioned the validity of "visions" or other information gained from deliberately placing oneself in a trance-like state, which is what Jean Wehner, the primary accuser in the "The Keepers," did to come up with "memories" of being sexually abused by priests and just about every other man she ever met. She also remembered one of the priests, Fr. Joseph Maskell, taking her to see the body of the dead nun he had murdered. Some of us do not believe she was ever sexually abused by the priests she accused and that those men have been falsely accused and had their good names dragged through the mud based on nothing more than the ravings of a mentally unbalanced woman. Fr. Maskell's body was even exhumed for DNA testing and his DNA did not match that recovered from the dead nun's body.
I was brought up in the Episcopal church (America's version of the CofE), but I live in a location where Catholicism is the majority faith and know and work with several Catholic priests. In other words, I do know a little about how the church views mystics and if I'm unsure about something, I just ask a priest.

I'd be interested in hearing anyone else's experiences of psychic attack. I know someone who was convinced that she was being psychically attacked by a friend of hers who had died. She would wake up at night and feel that he was in the room and she said that when she sensed his presence in the daytime, that she would see a smoky, dark mass in her peripheral vision. But whether she was being psychically attacked or just imagined that she was, I don't know. The imagination is powerful and people can convince themselves of almost anything if they give in to their fears. The person whom she thought was haunting her had a reputation for being cruel and callous when he was alive.

I came here to talk about paranormal experiences but I feel hostility towards me because of my faith, particularly by Jason and Jane. It surprises me since I had expected you all to be broad minded, but you're not, your prejudice shows. So I feel uncomfortable here and I'm not coming back, which is a shame as I have seen and heard more than the rest of you put together.

I haven't been hostile toward you and I challenge you to point out one hostile thing that I've posted in any of my replies to your comments.
I read your and Jason's posts and all he did was question your going into a trance-like state and instead of simply answering the question, or ignoring him if you didn't want to answer, you became very defensive.
You're never going to find a website, or anywhere else, where everyone agrees with you. I'm also shocked that someone who accuses others of not being "broad-minded" claims to have seen and heard more than the rest of us put together. You don't know what the other 313 members of this group have seen and heard and to insist that YOU are superior to everyone else is the height of conceit. Only someone with a closed mind would make such a claim.

I agree, Jane. I don't see where anyone said anything against the Catholic church. Even Jason simply asked her a question. I think that what put her on the defensive was when Jason said that if he had any questions about anything Catholic that he would ask a priest and she was afraid he'd ask about the Catholic church's position on mystics. I can't believe that she actually said that the church accepts her visions as real, when anyone who knows anything at all about the Catholic church knows that isn't true. Her claim that some priests are scared of her and others treat her with reverence was so ridiculous that I actually laughed when I read it. She must have thought that we were all a bunch of country bumpkins who would believe what she was saying.

I didn't find anything hostile or accusatory, Jason and Jane were just asking questions and sharing their own experiences with the subject at hand.

For those who didn't read all of Lilith's paranormal experiences in "Paranormal Experiences by Lilith," 1 of her experiences was that she had a prophetic dream about the 9-11 attacks on July 28, 2008, and had the notation in her diary to prove it. I questioned her about it and asked her how a dream 8 years after the attacks could be prophetic. When she realized that she had been caught in a lie, she deleted that post and sent me a PM and asked me to delete mine. I did delete my post, but now wish that I hadn't because it proved she was full of it.
Joanna, you said in another post that you have the ability to tell where people are from when they first join. If you know where Lilith is from, why don't you contact the Catholic archdiocese wherever it is and send a copy of her posts and ask if she is considered a Catholic mystic and if there are priests who are afraid of her?

She's not worth my time, or that of anyone else. She has created a persona in which she's a Catholic mystic and she's looking for people who will fall for her preposterous claims hook, line and sinker. She's no more psychic than anyone else and when she made a big production of her prophetic dream of the 9/11 attacks, which she dreamed on July 28, 2008, that should have been a clue to everyone that her posts were rubbish.

What I'd like to know is why an alleged "Catholic mystic," who claims to be holier than thou, chose the name "Lilith"? In Jewish mythology, Lilith is the name of a dangerous demon of the night, a lewd and lascivious temptress who steals babies in the darkness. This woman is a frigging nutcase and we're all better off without her raving delusions.
