Third Clue: Sunset was still red in the sky ... Then I saw what may have been a ghost. She was tall and dressed entirely in white ... and its whiteness was so stark I remember being surprised that her long, oval face nearly matched it. ... Only her black eyes, with no tinge of brown in them – stared beadily out of the whiteness that surrounded them.

Second Clue: The Glorious Estates of a Lost Era
_______
First Clue: July 2
_______
Following is the primary clue for Mystery Location No. 22:
A dark-haired, black-eyed apparition in filmy white haunts the old mansion high on the hill overlooking the river valley. The ghost is well-documented, having been witnessed by a famous author who lived nearby and included in his book. But the popular legend behind the haunting is pure fiction, likely invented by students at the girls’ boarding school that took over the property in the early 20th century. Today, the school is coed and accepts both boarding and day students. Around Halloween and on the anniversary of the death of the lady for whom the Gilded Age home is named, some of the more adventurous students still wait and watch for the woman in white to appear on the grand staircase.
Each day, a new clue will be posted until someone names the location, providing the street address, city and state (or province/country if located outside the US) and an explanation as to how each clue applies to the location. If no one correctly names the location, the contest will end at midnight (Eastern time), Saturday, October 22, 2016. Please note, the contest ends at midnight in the Eastern Time Zone. If you live in a different time zone, please make adjustments so you will know what time it ends where you are.
You may discuss the location with other members by posting your comments using the "reply" option, but please do not attempt to name the location until you are absolutely certain of your answer and able to post the street address, city, state, etc., along with a photo, or link to a photo, of the Location.
For those of you who remember our old Mystery Locations contest, the point system has changed. Now, if you name the location on the first day, i.e., Sunday, before midnight (ET), you will receive 7 points. Thereafter, the points will depend on the day you name the Location as indicated below. (Again, please note, each day ends at midnight in the Eastern Time Zone, so if you live, for example, in Mississippi, and you name the location at 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, you will receive 3 points because 11:30 p.m. in Mississippi is 12:30 a.m. Eastern Time.)
Sunday - 7 points
Monday - 6 points
Tuesday - 5 points
Wednesday - 4 points
Thursday - 3 points
Friday - 2 points
Saturday - 1 point
If you wish, you may collaborate with another member and if the two of you win, points will be divided between the two of you.
This contest is meant to be fun, so, as before, we ask that you conduct yourself accordingly. To prevent any accusations of favoritism, Joanna has been advised of the name and address of the Location and will not be participating in this week's contest.
If you have any questions or comments, please reply.
