Ghost Tours at 4th Most Haunted College in US
Do you believe in ghosts? If not, Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, just might be able to change your opinion! Located ideally 15 miles as the crow flies from Times Square in New York, the small liberal arts, graduate, and theological university attracts many, since its establishment in 1867. Drew, nicknamed “The Forest,” was recently ranked 5th best university in the state by USA Today, while also taking the coveted ranking as the 4th most haunted university in America, according to multiple sources.
The University’s haunts go as far back as the wife’s founder, Roxanna Mead Drew, who continues to roam the halls of her 1837 estate. An account of one of her spine-tingling sightings is from the 1989 fire at historic Mead Hall on Drew’s campus. Mead’s spirit is just one of the many paranormal incidents reported at the university.
Now is your chance to experience the spooks with your own eyes and ears. On Friday, October 14, Drew University’s Senior Civic Scholar Michelle Gonnella has planned a spooktacular event with the help of the New Jersey Ghost Hunters Society with all event proceeds benefiting the Patriots’ Path Council, Boy Scouts of America’s Camp Noble Cause for Active Military Members and their families.
The lantern walking tours through The Forest will begin at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $6 pre-sale and $8 at the door. There will be no charge for children 8 and under. Thought scary, the tour is appropriate for children. Additionally, there will be caramel apples, apple cider and more to munch on! Parking is available on site. Please remember, the event is cash only!
So what are you waiting for? The ghosts of Drew University died to meet you, so purchase your pre-sale tickets today and RSVP to your $6 pre-sale price today and RSVP to mgonnella@drew.edu
