Fourth Clue: jailhouse fast delays trial _______
Third Clue: near Wisconsin Avenue _______
Second Clue: count, double agent, Iraqi general _______
First Clue: May-December _______
Following is the primary clue for Mystery Location No. 8:
Behind the heavily-draped windows of the row house with a distinctive bow front, lived a remarkable, politically-active woman and a middle-aged man with a Walter Mitty complex. Then one hot summer day, passers-by observed crime scene tape stretched on both sides of the front entrance and soon a stretcher was rolled out the door carrying a body with its face covered. Everyone assumed she had died of natural causes. It wasn’t until later they learned she was found dead on the floor of an upstairs bathroom and the medical examiner ruled her death a homicide.
Each day, a new clue will be posted until someone names the location, providing the street address, city and state (or province/country if located outside the US) and an explanation as to how each clue applies to the location. If no one correctly names the location, the contest will end at midnight (Eastern time), Saturday, July 16, 2016. Please note, the contest ends at midnight in the Eastern Time Zone. If you live in a different time zone, please make adjustments so you will know what time it ends where you are.
You may discuss the location with other members by posting your comments using the "reply" option, but please do not attempt to name the location until you are absolutely certain of your answer and able to post the street address, city, state, etc., along with a photo, or link to a photo, of the Location.
For those of you who remember our old Mystery Locations contest, the point system has changed. Now, if you name the location on the first day, i.e., Sunday, before midnight (ET), you will receive 7 points. Thereafter, the points will depend on the day you name the Location as indicated below. (Again, please note, each day ends at midnight in the Eastern Time Zone, so if you live, for example, in Mississippi, and you name the location at 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, you will receive 3 points because 11:30 p.m. in Mississippi is 12:30 a.m. Eastern Time.)
Sunday - 7 points Monday - 6 points Tuesday - 5 points Wednesday - 4 points Thursday - 3 points Friday - 2 points Saturday - 1 point
If you wish, you may collaborate with another member and if the two of you win, points will be divided between the two of you.
This contest is meant to be fun, so, as before, we ask that you conduct yourself accordingly. To prevent any accusations of favoritism, Steve has been advised of the name and address of the Location and will not be participating in this week's contest.
If you have any questions or comments, please reply.

May-December usually means when a young person marries someone a lot older.

Second Clue: count, double agent, Iraqi general This makes it sound like the location has something to do with espionage and the war in Iraq. But if it did, she wouldn't have given us such an obvious clue, which means that it's about something else entirely.

The house is located at 3206 Q Street, NW, Washington, DC, near Wisconsin Avenue. In the picture, it's the bluish-gray townhouse in the middle. It is where Viola Drath, age 91, was beaten and strangled to death on August 11, 2011, by her husband, Albrecht Muth, who was 47. They had a May-December marriage. When they married in 1991, she was 70 and he was 26. He said that they had a marriage of convenience. Both Viola and Muth were German and she wrote for German magazines and was active in Republican politics. Muth had a Walter Mitty complex and at different times, he pretended to have the title of count, which he said was bestowed on him by a dying count who fell off an elephant in India and had to pass along his title. He also pretended to be a spy and double agent, who worked in places like South America and Iraq. Then he started pretending to be a brigadier general in the Iraqi Army and started wearing an Iraqi uniform and beret, and carrying a riding crop, around Washington. The Iraqi government said that he had never been in the Iraqi Army. He and Viola had a violent marriage and some people said that they had more problems after she found out that he was gay. The police were called more than once to their townhouse and one time, he beat her with a chair and pounded her head on the floor. After Muth was arrested, he went on a starvation fast in jail and lost down from 170 pounds to 96 pounds, so the trial had to be delayed because of his health. In April of 2014, he was convicted for killing his wife and he's now serving a 50 year sentence. The townhouse was renovated and sold for $1,125,000 and it is now painted a cream color.

Congratulations, Pat! I was completely without a clue on this one. How did you ever figure it out? After I figured out that Washington, DC was probably the city because there are streets there named for the states, I started Googling several of the clues together like "murder, Washington, DC, count, Iraqi general, near Wisconsin Avenue" and soon I began seeing the names Viola Drath and Albrecht Muth. I always made sure "murder" was the first word in the string of clues.
