Loch Ness Monster Film ContestCOOS BAY, Ore. – Have you seen the Loch Ness Monster? If not, can you fake it? Make your own film about Nessie and you can win a prize in a local film festival that celebrates Scotland's most famous cryptid.
The South Coast Celtic Fest will present the Loch Ness Monster Film Festival Sunday, May 8, at the Egyptian Theatre, 229 S. Bayshore Drive, Coos Bay. Admission is $5.
Make a short film about the Loch Ness Monster and enter it to win prizes and glory. The South Coast Celtic Fest invites you to use your filmmaking skills to celebrate this mysterious Scottish phenomenon. At 4 p.m., the family movie The Water Horse will be shown. Then at 6 p.m., there'll be local and international films about the Loch Ness Monster and you can judge the local entries for prizes. Enjoy food, plus beer from 7 Devils Brewing Company, during the screening. All films must be original, must be eligible for a PG or less rating (in the opinion of our judges) and must refer to the Scottish nature of the original Loch Ness Monster. Other than this, the loch’s the limit! Entry is free. Send a link to your original film to: nessiefest@gmail.com no later than May 1.
Don’t know how to make a movie? So It Goes Coffeehouse in Coos Bay will host workshops explaining how to make a movie with your smartphone or tablet at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 14, and Thursday, April 28.
The festival is part of the South Coast Celtic Fest, held Saturday, May 7 at Southwestern Oregon Community College. Additional information is available at: southcoastfolksociety.wordpress.com/south-coast-celtic-fest/Source: The World, March 31, 2016.
