New Sketch Released in 1982 Murder CaseLOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – A new sketch has been released in the 1982 unsolved murder of a Fairfax County woman.
Veronica Hepworth (above left) was 20 when her partially-clothed body was discovered around 7 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 1982, by a passerby driving along Route 50 about a quarter-mile east of Route 15 in Loudoun. The young woman was last seen alive at 1:30 that morning at the Fancy Dancer Bar on Route 1 in Fairfax, where she was part of a group celebrating a friend’s birthday. No one noticed if she left the bar alone with the intention of hitchhiking home. However, witnesses reported seeing a 1960s or 70s model red pickup truck near the farm where the body was found.
Police believe the new, age-progression composite sketch (above right) will assist in the ongoing investigation into the murder. Authorities said the sketch was developed based on Hepworth's last-known serious boyfriend (center), who would be in his mid-50s to early 60s today. Neither family nor friends knew the boyfriend’s name.
Anyone with information concerning Hepworth or the unidentified individual in the photograph and sketch is encouraged to call the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation's Fairfax Field Office at (703) 376-1690 or the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office at (703) 737-8487. All calls will remain confidential.Sources: WUSA, July 30, 2015, and Caitlin Gibson, The Washington Post.

You'd think that somebody would have recognized this man from his picture at the time. It must not have been publicized very much.

How strange, I would mention the name of a boyfriend, at least to my friends, or maybe his place of employment, college...something!
