Mom thinks 4-year-old is reincarnation of long dead Marine
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – After months of disturbing chatter from a young boy, the mother of a 4-year-old suspects her child may be the reincarnation of a Marine who died decades before the boy was born. “He just starts crying hysterically and I say, ‘What’s wrong, Andrew?’ and he says, ‘Why did you let me die in that fire?’”said Michele Lucas. Lucas said her son began recalling memories that couldn’t have feasibly been his own and making comments about violence that no one his age should know about.
This eerie story will be featured on the Lifetime show Ghost Inside My Child, which profiles families who believe their young ones are a reincarnation of someone who died violently. Producers of the show helped the Lucas family connect the details spouted by Andrew to a group of Marines who died in a bomb blast in Lebanon in 1983. They believe Andrew’s suspect past-life memories belong to Sgt. Val Lewis, who died in that 1983 blast.
Andrew has given his parents – and now, the show’s producers – specific clues to support their suspicions. He said he lived at 860 Main Street in Sumter, Georgia. His family took him there to visit Lewis’ grave, hoping to help Andrew get closure and close the door on his past memories. “He went right up to the grave site, he was okay,” the 4-year-old’s mom said. “Put the flowers down and then he took off and ran to another grave and it was a Marine and he said, ‘That’s my friend.’”
But instead of closure, the cemetery trip produced more questions and more strange occurrences when they returned home. “About two weeks ago, there was an emblem on my wall and it was like somebody went up to it and turned i, and it went right back,” Lucas said. “So it’s kinda creeping me out. I don’t know if I’ve picked up spirits while I was in the graveyard. I don’t know.”
Now, the family is wondering what should they do next to make it all go away. “I would like to get a psychic, maybe help us through and see what’s going on,” Lucas said. “Is my house haunted, is my child haunted? I don’t know.”
