Satanists Accused of Recruiting Members at Halloween
There is an extraordinary increase in demonic activity, a psychiatrist and spokesman for the International Association of Exorcists warned. He said a notable number of people are engaging in Satanic practices that damaged the psychological, spiritual and moral being of people. Another member claimed that Halloween festivities should be blamed for the significant rise of demonic possessions. Dr. Valter Cascioli, psychiatrist and spokesman for the International Association of Exorcists, said people are now dismissing the fact the devil continues to tempt people in doing ordinary demonic activity. Such dismissive behavior leaves people vulnerable to greater attacks by the devil, Cascioli warned. The societies are now tainted with "rushing, superficiality, exaggerated individualism and secularization that the battle against evil and the devil increasingly is becoming an emergency," he said during an interview with the Vatican Radio.
Another member of the association, Father Aldo Buonaiuto said the increase in demonic possessions during the month of October is due to how people are now celebrating Halloween. He said that during the Halloween period, the Association was receiving 40 calls a day from parents who believed their children were being recruited by cults. He added that while many people believed Halloween to be a simple carnival, the celebration opens a door to more dangerous demonic activities, noting that the Association received reports of evil rituals, animal sacrifices, desecrations of cemeteries and thefts of sacred bones during this period, particularly on October 31. He warned that Halloween is the special time of the year in which cults recruit members and advised against dismissing and underestimating this little known fact.
In an answer to the disturbing demonic activities that shrouds the celebration of Halloween, Buonaiuto encouraged people to instead take part in the Church's festivity dubbed as Holyween. For the Holyween, people are advised against wearing zombie-inspired costumes. Instead, they will be instructed to decorate their doors and windows with adornments that are evocative of holy saints. Holyween will also be celebrated with masses, prayer vigils and worship that speaks of good rather evil.
Pope Francis, in his homily on October 31, said the devil is real and is continuing to lure people into evil. He said the devil is a liar and the father of lies. "But in this generation, like so many others, people have been led to believe that the devil is a myth, a figure, an idea, the idea of evil," he added.
