Pat Robertson: Your Son’s Stomachache Might Be Satan
When the average person encounters a child feeling pains in his stomach, they may suspect food poisoning, an upset stomach, or any of a plethora of maladies that can commonly affect people. That’s most people. Every now and then though, something like stomach pain may just be a sign that your child has the devil living in his bowels, or at least that’s what you’d think if you’re Pat Robertson.
On an episode of the 700 Club, Robertson took to giving advice to a mother confronted by a troubling development with her son.
“My son heard sounds that send painful shock-waves thru his body as I was praying for him and I called on the name of Jesus. My son said it felt like something hit him very hard in the stomach. I know this is not of God. He is a Christian. Can Christians be attacked by demons?” – Dianne (Viewer)
Pat Robertson, without missing a step, recommended that someone needed to exorcise the demons that must be ailing this child.
“He could be attacked by demons and he might be oppressed or possessed by demons,” said Robertson. One thing was important though, in light of the revelation that demons may be inhabiting the intestines of her son, Dianne needed to get someone who “understands the spiritual dimension and doing spiritual warfare.”
It was important to note that she certainly shouldn’t get some “quack” in who would just be “casting out non-existing demons.”
Further, Robertson started to question where the source of the demon-possessed stomach pain may lie.
“If I were you, I would look back at your family. What in your family – do you have anybody involved in the occult, somebody in witchcraft or tarot cards or psychic things? Has there something been there that you don’t know about? Some grandparent, great-grandparent or something? Look into the family tree, and then get some people in there and cast this stuff out. But that does not sound like normal.”
